连词if的用法和“主将从现”的时态规则
【观察】
If it doesn't rain tomorrow, I'll go fishing.

【探究】
if作连词,引导条件状语从句,表示“假如,如果”。在复合句中,如果主句用 一般将来 时,主句是 祈使 句或含有 情态 动词,则if引导的条件状语从句用 一般现在 时表示将来。
语法巧记口诀:
“主将从现”的时态规则
主将从现要牢记,首先区分两种句:
复合句和简单句。共有五种简单句;
复合句子不复杂,主句从句来相加,
有连词的是从句,无连词的是主句。
从句一般现在时,主句使用将来时。
这个规则能扩展,祈使句情态动词。

Study of the Text
What: 1a—1c are the introductory sections of the unit, and 2a—2d focus on listening teaching.Pictures and statements are about consequences if you go to a party.
Why: 1a and 1b are to present statements about consequences. 1c is to strengthen memory again for students to command the expressions. 2a and 2b are to lead students to consider consequences when holding a party. 2c and 2d are to consolidate students' communication ability.
How: Pictures that describe what will happen are presented to show consequences. Statements and listening tasks can teach students how to express. Conversations are useful to have a good command of arrangement considering various consequences.

2.To learn to use the first condi-tional “if…will…”. Step 3 Listening Work on 2a & 2b: 1.Listen for the first time and circle the correct answers to complete the sentences in 2a. 2.Listen again and choose the correct short answer in the box to answer each question in 2b. Evaluate students' listen-ing ability and observe whether they can get information accurately.
Purpose To arouse students' interest in prediction of consequences and make them active in class. To present statements for students to develop their ability to listen and speak.
3.To learn to use the modal verb “should”. Step 4 Role-play Work on 2c: 1.Tell students to role-play a conversation between Nelly and Mark. 2.Give a model to students. 3.Students work in pairs and practice the conversation. 4.Ask some pairs of students to act out their conversations. Step 5 Conversation Work on 2d: 1.Read the conversation and answer the questions below.(详见课件资源) 2.Explain some new words and main points in the conversation. 3.Let students practice the conversation with partners. Then let some pairs of students act out the conversation. 4.Fill and retell Fill in the mind map of Jeff's party and retell it to your partner. Praise students' statements with “if” in their conver-sations and encourage them to express flexibly. Observe whether students can get information in the conversation quickly and accurately. Praise students' good job and encourage them to practice reading skills.
Purpose To put what they learned into practice and develop their ability to read.

第二课时(Grammar Focus-3c)
Study of the Text
What: This is a grammar lesson focusing on the use of “if” and the expressions of consequences. 3a is a letter with blanks to fill in to present various consequences. Then there are writing tasks to complete sentences and to write a story with “I think I will…”.
Why: Grammar Focus is to present the use of “if” and expressions of consequences. 3a is to enlarge students' learning of verbs. 3b is to develop students' language-using ability. 3c is to cultivate students' prediction and arrangement abilities.
How: Grammar Focus works as an example for students to learn the use of “if”. Then a letter with blanks to fill in is helpful for students to practice the use of “if” and enlarge students' vocabulary. Writing tasks including completing sentences and writing a story lead students to put what they learned into practice.

Step 4 Group work Work on 3c: 1.Make up a story in groups. Write a story with your group on a piece of paper. The first person begins the story with “I think I will…” The others add sentences with “if”. Pass the paper around twice. Then read the story. 2.Make sure students know what to do. 3.Let each student write down a sentence, using the sentence pattern “I think I will…/If I…, I will…”. Then put them together and make up a story. 4.Finally, students vote to choose the best story. Observe students' writing process and give them some tips to use required phrases and sentence patterns. Praise students' arrange-ment and correct the use of expressions. Encourage students to express themselves actively.
Purpose To improve students' language use ability and enrich their expressions when it comes to consequences.
Homework: Polish your story and tell it to your family members.

Two trips
When George is thirty-five, he buys a small plane and learns to fly it. He soon becomes very good at it and makes his plane do all kinds of tricks when he flies in the sky.
George has a friend. His name is Mark. One day, George offers to take Mark up in his plane. Mark thinks, “I've traveled on a big plane several times, but I've never been in a small one, so I'll have a try.”
They go up, and George flies around for half an hour and does all kinds of tricks in the air.
When they come down again, Mark is very glad to be back safely, and he says to his friend in a shaking voice, “Well, George, thank you very much for those two trips in your plane.”
