第三课时(1a-1d)
Study of the Text                         
What: Students are asked to circle three different things according to their importance. Listen to different people's opinions on the things listed in 1a and complete statements of consequences by filling in blanks. Lastly, practice conversations and learn different choices and consequences.
Why: 1a is to introduce the topic and lead students to learn about themselves. 1b and 1c are to present the use of “if” and develop students' ability to listen. 1d is to consolidate students' learning of grammar.
How: Self-reflection is helpful for students to learn about themselves. The listening part can make them realize various opinions and choices. The conversation works as output to let students apply what they learned to writing.

What: This lesson is reading and thinking part. The text is about worries and problems in daily life and how to solve problems. Students can learn how to deal with problems and give advice to others.
Why: 2a is to introduce the topic of problems and arouse students' interest. 2b is to lead students to get the main idea of the text. 2c is to help students to read in detail and get more information. 2d is to enrich students' expressions and vocabulary of problem-solving. 2e is to lead students to learn about others' problems and give advice to others.
How: Questions related to students' daily life are useful to arouse students' interest. The text about worries and problems works as an example to solve problems and give advice. Their classmates' problems are helpful for them to learn about others' situations and do them a favor.

Study of the Text                         
What: Firstly, there is a chart to interview someone's three biggest worries and solutions. Then, students are asked to organize the information in 3a to write a short passage. Lastly, students need to finish an advice letter to give advice to their friends.
Why: 3a is to develop students' ability to communicate and solve problems, providing material to the following writing. 3b is to cultivate students' language-using ability and pave the way for the advice letter. 3c is to lead students to write an advice letter and cultivate their quality of helping others.
How: There is a chart given to help students to organize the information of someone's worries and solutions. Then, students can learn to explain the information logically in the chart by filling in the short passage. Lastly, students can practice writing an advice letter according to the structures in 3b.

Use the structures to help you plan your writing. 2.Ways to do it: First, get the general idea. Then, complete the sentences, using the structures you know. Finally, read again and make sure it is written smoothly. 3.Ask some students to read their passages and try to find out if there are any mistakes. Remind students to make notes and learn to write advice letters with given tips and writing skills.
Work on 3c: 1.Write your advice for your friend's second and third problems. Use the structures in 3b to help you. 2.Give some examples for students to learn and polish their own writing. Step 4 Group work 1.Talk about the project in your school “We Can Help!” 2.Make sure students know what they should do. (Our school is taking part in the project “We Can Help!” Add more items to the poster. Then talk about what you will do if you take part in the project.) 3.Exchange the writing with your partner to give advice to each other. Observe what students list on the poster.Give them some tips to evaluate others' writing.
Purpose To cultivate students' good qualities of helping others and develop their minds of arranging things.
Homework: Write a letter to yourself to give suggestions for your problems.
