八年级的学生通过两年多的英语学习,对英语有了一定的了解,具有一定的自学能力。在形成自己有效的学习策略,具有了观察问题、解决问题能力的同时,学习习惯也逐渐养成。这个年龄段的孩子充满了青春活力,有着自己的希望与梦想,并乐意和别人谈自己的希望和梦想。而本节课是让学生运用本单元的目标语言对梦想和希望进行区分学习,和我们的生活联系密切,学生的学习积极性和兴趣较浓厚。只是词汇量偏大以及短语较多可能会给他们的学习一定的障碍。此外他们虽然掌握了一定的阅读技巧,但是阅读耐心及总结归纳上还是不够灵活。部分内容可以由小组合作完成。对于Task3 discussion部分,因为课外词汇量的不足及对中西方文化差异知识的匮乏,可能会有一定的难度。

教学目标的设计明确、合理、有效。通过教学实践证明学生学习后的学习效果反馈良好,基本达到了目标要求,说明目标的设计符合学生的实际。
