In China, Chinese people usually shake hands when first meeting
To bow in Japan, the head should be lowered to half of the body and the hands should be placed together. The older and more senior the person you meet, the deeper you should bow. Your voice and attitude should be calm,not noisy. Japanese people pay attention to etiquette and have the customof giving gifts.
When Thai people meet and greet, they usually first put thei rhands together and then arch their foreheads to touch their fingertips, which is called “wai” in Thailand - the higher the position of the hands, the more respect for the other party.
In Spain, two people greet each other by walking up and kissing each other quickly on the cheek: first the right side, then the left. lf you do not knoweach other well, you can also shake hands to show friendship. This greeting isthe norm in most European countries.
Greeting between locals in India usually involves clasping hands together in a prayer gesture, leaning the head forward(but not bowing) and saying “Namaste”

Usually, the time of shaking hands shouldn’t last more than 3 seconds. It is polite to wait for the ladies, the leaders or the old to show their hands first, then you can shake with them.

它用来表示根据规定或传统习惯,人们不得不做的事或期待发生的事。其时态、人称和句式的变化体现在 be 动词上。to为不定式符号,后接动词原形。
(1) be supposed to do sth.的句式结构
肯定句:主语+ be supposed to do sth
例: You were supposed to arrive at 6:00, but you arrived at 7: 00
