People say there seems to be so much negativity in this world, but there are good people out there and sometimes we are made aware of them when we least expect it.
Does it feel like you have too much stuff in your house Do you want to earn some extra cash and get rid of some things you don't use A yard sale could be your solution!
My family had been planning a yard sale for several weeks. Our five-year-old son, Braxton, asked if he could set up a lemonade (柠檬水) stand during the yard sale. He wanted to make a little money and start saving up to buy a set of Lego bricks, which might add up to $100. “I will earn it myself!” he declared proudly. He had been talking about it almost non-stop and couldn't wait for the day to finally arrive.
Two days ago, we put up the sign “Yard Sale” in front of the driveway, telling neighbors about the time and items. Yesterday Braxton woke up extra early at 6:00 am and couldn't hide his excitement. After setting everything out for the yard sale, we made the lemonade and baked some cookies for him to begin his business adventure.
After about an hour or more, we had several customers, but Braxton still had not sold any lemonade. He was a little sad. Then a young woman walked up with her baby to browse the items. While making small talk, we told her about Braxton's plan to save his money for his little dream. She then selected a couple of baby toys for just $6 and paid with a $10 bill. “Keep the change, boy!” she said gently. Braxton couldn't have been happier to receive his first little bit of money for the day.
The woman left and we talked about how nice it was of her to donate the $4 to him and not even accept any lemonade. We didn't give it much thought after that, but the story doesn't end there.

I've always thought of my mother Lee-Ann as a superhero. Not that she can fly or shoot lasers (激光) out of her eyes, but because she never runs out of room in her heart for anyone or anything.
I could write about all of the wonderful things she has done, but I want to focus on the one project she does every year that has shaped my whole family and everyone around us: She collects the money she finds in the washer and dryer, and she puts it in a little jar that we refer to as “The Charity Jar”. Every year, she takes this money and puts it toward something—a cause, an act of kindness, anything that can help someone. Sometimes, she buys coffee for the next people in line at a coffee shop. Other times, she buys something for an organization that needs it.
If you ask her about this tradition, she will tell you that she is carrying on something that her mother used to do around the holidays. If you ask anyone else who knows her, however, they will tell you that she has a huge heart. She manages to get our whole family involved in this movement every year.
Last year, for example, she helped a homeless women's shelter where my younger brother Bob and I volunteered. Once, when we helped with delivering daily supplies there, he noticed the wish list on the wall: comforters, a DVD player, a coffee maker and supplies. We told Mum, and she quickly organized a family meeting to discuss how to help the shelter. We all agreed that the coffee maker would be the best thing for our family to work on together. We found a coffee maker online and decided to buy one.
Bob opened “The Charity Jar” and we counted the money Mum collected. Unfortunately, it was 50 dollars short. “Any way to make it up ” Mum asked me and Bob.

Ninny grew up with her grandparents. Her grandmother worked as a housekeeper, and her grandfather was too weak to move. In his wheelchair, Grandfather told her stories about flowers, princesses and sunrises. Those stories always ended with the same message: A simple act of kindness creates an endless ripple (涟漪) that comes back to you.
One day, Ninny was at the supermarket with her grandmother. They only bought the bare minimum. "oh!" Ninny jumped when she spotted a chocolate cake. She pulled her grandmother's sleeve. "Grandfather's birthday is around the corner! Can we please, please, please have it "
The old lady eyed the chocolate cake. There were beautiful decorations on the top with fancy designs on the side. Picking up the cake, Grandmother take a close look at the price and sighed. "Ninny, we can't afford it. It’s $40!"
Ninny pouted(噘嘴), trying to convince her grandmother. Yet she knew that her grandmother would not bend, even if she begged with her puppy eyes. No matter what, money did not grow on trees. Ninny sighed and turned around. Grandmother gave her a sad smile and turned towards the cashier.
Almost out of nowhere, a man with a 50 dollar bill and the chocolate cake approached her and handed these things to Ninny. "Have them, dear."
Ninny took a closer look at the man. He was average. Average face, average clothes, and average everything. He was just a random man.
The man bent down and maintained eye contact with Ninny. "Do you know why I'm giving you these " Ninny shook her head. "When I was a little boy, a man bought me a chocolate cake. He just overheard a conversation I had with my mother. Nothing else. He gave me some money and a small slip of paper. Then he left." The man reached into his pocket and took out a dog-eared piece of paper. Looking at the words written, Ninny wore a smile on her face, for she was so familiar with the message.

I am in the Navy, and several years ago I was transferred from Chicago, Illinois, to Meridian, Mississippi. I was at the airport, trying to get my boarding pass and check my bags. Because I was moving, I had almost all of my possessions with me.
When I got to the counter, I found out there was a limit to the number of bags you can check without paying a fee. I had exceeded (超过) this limit by four bags. In order to get both myself and all of my things home, I would have to spend over $100. I didn't have that kind of money with me, because I had just paid some of my bills and sent a few larger items home by mail.
The airline employee told me she couldn't do anything to help me. So I asked her where the nearest ATM was. She told me how to find the ATM and suggested I should go to the Airport Help Point for some help.
There was just one staff member there, to whom I told my dilemma. Нe apologetically told me there was nothing he could do. I started to cry because I didn't know what was going to happen next.
A fellow military gentleman was there using the amenities (便利设备), and he overheard me tell my story to the staff member. He came over and asked me for the story again. I told him, and we talked for a few minutes. He told me he was a parachuter (伞兵) in the army. I told him that my dad had been an army parachuter a long time ago. On a Saturday morning, my son Nick was going to participate in a five-kilometer race in Clarkston, Georgia. It had already been an unusual morning. Suddenly, Nick noticed an insect on the light of my car. It was a little green, no longer than a fingernail. And it was friendly. It jumped onto Nick's finger, and walked across my shirt, and then went back to Nick's hand, where it stayed for a long time. It stayed so long that we'd eventually give it a name: Little Friend.
There were two hours before the race and we had to wait and we had enough time to know more about Little Friend, which stayed with Nick like an old friend. We walked back to the car to drop off some stuff. Little Friend stayed with Nick. They became close friends.
Later, we found out that Little Friend was a tree cricket (蟋蟀) from the Internet. "They like living in trees and bushes as they do, and they are used to feeling the wind blow. They are good at holding on," Nick said.
Before the race, Little Friend either fell or jumped off Nick's hand and landed on the sidewalk. Maybe it wanted to go free. But this wasn't a good place for that. The traffic was heavy and unpredictable. Little Friend was in danger. So Nick knelt and reached out his hand. Little Friend came back.
The race was about to start, and Little Friend was in for a wild ride. Nick would run fast, and the race would be long, and his arms would swing, and Little Friend would be bounced and eventually knocked away. I felt responsible for having a talk with Nick. "You'll lose Little Friend," I told him. Nick nodded, treating the moment with appropriate seriousness. Little Friend sat silently on his wrist. The race began, and 1 lost sight of them.
I knew Nick could run a 5k in about 30 minutes. When I didn't see him at the 35-minute mark, I began to wonder what had gone wrong. And as the 40-minute mark approached, he still didn't appear. But there he was, just ahead of the 45-minute mark.

Her name was Ms. Finch. She was very short, with short brown hair and unique eyeglasses that seemed too small for her tiny face. Despite being old enough to retire, her temper made it clear she wasn't planning to do so quietly. Nelson Brian felt exhausted as he sat in one of the hard-backed chairs in the room, worn down by Ms. Finch's intense stare.
Ms. Finch sat on the edge of her chair, her brown shoes barely touching the worn carpet. In a rude tone, she remarked, “Mr. Nelson, your file says you’ve been to four job interviews in the last ten days, but you haven't managed to secure a job. If today’s appearance is any indication of your commitment to your job search, it's no wonder Flowers on First didn't want to hire you as a delivery driver.”
A wave of sickness accompanied the heat spreading through Brian’s body. He knew going straight from soccer practice to the career consulting session was a mistake, but he thought showing up in non-slip shoes would be better than being late. As he tried to explain, Ms. Finch pressed her lips together in annoyance.
“I'm not interested in excuses, Mr. Nelson,” she said. “But I'd like to know why someone with your grade point average and an extensive list of after-school activities is struggling to find a part-time job.” Brain's commitment to extracurricular(工作之外的) activities and good academic standing shifted Ms. Finch's perspective, realizing he possessed qualities that could contribute positively to the workplace.
Ms. Finch's question brought back the helpless feeling that plagued(折磨) Brian during his failed interviews. “I—I—I am too nervous to say a word,” he stammered(结结巴巴地说), keeping his eyes on the carpet. The School Garden
In the back of Greenfield Elementary School, a garden seemed to lie forgotten. It was occupied by disorganized and tall weeds, though decorated with some daisy flowers here or there. Obviously, it had its prosperous past for some time, but somehow it lost the school children's interest. It has become a piece of land without anything special to arouse the kids' attention.
One sunny afternoon, Emily, Jake, and Olivia happened to enter the overgrown garden during a hide-and-seek game. “The daisies are lovely,” said Emily. “But the weeds spread everywhere,” cried Jake. “It could be a good garden if someone takes care of it,” said Olivia. The three decided to do something for the garden.
First, they made a design for it. The daisies would be saved, but needed to be released from weeds that were going to be cut; the dirt paths under the weeds would be exposed to light again. Besides, there should be flowers and plants of different types and colors. Second, they needed help from other kids. They successfully called up their classmates to clean the garden and plant colorful rows of flowers, herbs, and even vegetables. The once-forgotten space came back to life, attracting butterflies, bees, and the curious eyes of the entire school.
But their joyous attempt faced an unexpected challenge when a sudden storm almost ruined all of their hard work. The children didn't have time to prepare any protection for the delicate garden. Hardly had the storm calmed down when the kids hurriedly arrived at school, only to find the newly planted flowers and plants were washed away, and the garden was covered with mud. They were heart-broken at the sight of all the mess. “Our work was in vain,” cried Emily and Jake. “Cheer up. We have to restore everything,” Olivia said with a tone of firmness.

My first year of senior high school felt awkward. The school was twice as big as my old school, and to make matters worse, my closest friends went to a different high school. I felt very lonely.
One cold and windy Sunday afternoon, I was sitting at home at our dining room table doing homework, with a fire going in our fireplace. As usual, my cat was lying on top of my papers, purring (发出呼噜声) loudly. She was never far from me. I had rescued her when she was a kitten and put my name on her collar in case she got lost again.
Suddenly, I smelled something strange, and then I noticed that smoke was pouring in. It filled the room so quickly that we all ran out into the front yard. By the time we made our way outside, the whole roof was in flames and the fire was spreading quickly.
When the fire was finally out, our house was almost completely burned down. I was in a bad mood and then it struck me...I hadn't seen my cat. Where was my cat Much to my horror, I realized that my cat was gone and my heart ached for her. Then all at once it hit me—the new school, the fire, my cat—I broke down in tears and cried and cried.
The next day, I went to school. But I was totally embarrassed by everything. My clothes and shoes were borrowed from my aunt. I had no books or homework, and my backpack was gone. I had my life in that backpack! I didn't want to grow up if it was going to be this way. I just wanted to curl up and quit school.
It always seems that bad news spreads quickly. Everyone in high school, including the teachers, was aware of my sad situation. What a way to start off at a new school! This was not the kind of attention I was looking for.
The next day at school, people were acting even stranger than usual. They kept asking me to hurry up to the gym. I thought it was strange, but when I went into the gym, I knew why.

Tomatoes: The Real Magical Fruit
"Fresh tomato plants! Straight out of the ground! 50 cents each! " I shouted in the school hall. In my hands, I carried a shoebox with little tomato plants. Their homes were plastic bottles, without the top half. Most people ignored my product, but some handed me 50 cents and picked out a 2-week-old baby tomato plant.
About a month before this, I started gardening. I pulled up grass in my little garden for several days in a row. Satisfied with my work, I continued to the second step-begging my dad to take me to the supermarket. He agreed!
When my dad turned off the engine and opened the door, I practically skipped inside the supermarket. We headed straight for the garden center. I picked up planters, seeds and dirt. My dad helped and showed me the best dirt and tomato plant types to get. We got to the register, and my dad, knowing what would happen, helped me pay.
As soon as I got home, I began to plant them in my garden. The following days witnessed my visits to the garden and my parents were amazed by my devotion to my new-found love.
Then was the part where I met my problem-I planted too many tomato seeds. I realized this all too late, about 10 days later when they all started sprouting (发芽) up and I counted 45 tomato plants. A few days went by and then I ended up with 85 tomato plants.
I did what all high schoolers would do when they messed up-I asked people around. I even got a notebook to write down their suggestions. Sadly, I got the same answer from most people, "Just let them die." WHAT ! Let my beautiful plants die They had so much potential! They could make 20-30 tomatoes per plant! We were talking about the possibility of around 2,550 tomatoes!

When I was four, my seven-year-old brother received a baseball mitt (手套) for his birthday. Every night, as we went to sleep, I'd listen to aim throwing a ball into the mitt over and over to soften the leather. I wanted a mitt so much that I almost cried. But, back then, girls didn't play sports.
Twenty-six years had passed. Now a thirty-year-old mother of three, I happened to see a notice in my local paper: "Women's Slow-Pitch Softball League opens soon. Anyone who is interested can sign up at the recreation center." I cut it out and set it on the kitchen counter. Could I Was it even possible to think about playing baseball, a game I'd never actually played but had dreamed of playing my entire life But I'd certainly watched enough games to know how it was played.
I looked at that notice on my counter every day. I thought of a thousand reasons I couldn't play. I was too old. I had three little ones to watch. I could never be good enough. But the idea of playing baseball stuck in my head and wouldn't go away. Finally, I gathered up my courage and signed up at the recreation center.
Since I wasn't on a team, they told me I'd be assigned to one. And I was made to practice running bases. I never got a chance to bat or play on the field. I just ran the bases all night. Every week, I showed up for practice. But every game, I spent the night sitting on the bench. My husband asked why I didn't just forget about it, and I told him that if I gave up, I'd never get a chance.
During the last game of the season, I finally had a chance to go to center field. I had to borrow a mitt and I used it to catch an impossibly high ball, winning the game for us. The coach looked surprised. It never occurred to him that I might be able to play.

Years ago, back in the middle 2010s, I moved to a hillside house and drove down to work every morning at about eight o'clock and came home at around five thirty. Each time I drove by, I would see a young boy at about age 15 and a large dog walking along the road. When cars would pass him on the other side, he made eye contact and waved with a toothy smile. I saw him almost every day, walking along the road and waving at cars. Amazing
On a rainy day, I saw him, along with his dog, sitting at the roadside. I stopped my car and got out to ask what had happened to him. "Nothing. I just want to take a break, "the boy responded. I then asked if he could need a ride. The young boy, Kevin, said, "I'm not really going anywhere, just walking, thank you anyway, sir." I used to enjoy walking in the countryside myself, so I thought it wasn't too odd. "In case of some emergency, or if you ever need a ride or help, "I told Kevin, "flag me down and I'll do whatever I can. " Kevin thanked me and went on his way. Over the following days, each time we met, I would stop for a while and have a quick talk with Kevin, and his sweet dog Randy.
One afternoon, I suddenly felt a voice inside my mind: "Go back home now! "There was still one hour for work. But I asked for an early leave and drove back faster than usual. Again, I saw Kevin walking along the road. But this time he didn't have his usual smile and was pacing rather than walking. When he saw my car, he violently flagged me down. Unfortunately, 81-year-old Barney had lost two most beloved people of his life, his wife, and his only daughter, who left her 6-year-old son Tommy in his hands.
Tommy was a bright, talented young boy with a promising future ahead of him. But with insufficient resources, he knew it would be hard to provide Tommy with the way he deserved and dreamed. Barney applied for a job as a pizza deliveryman. It was exhausting, because Barney had to go up and down to different addresses on hot, cold, and rainy days, door-delivering pizzas to customers. Hard though the job was, the pay was not that great.
However, Barney was fueled by the thought that every box of pizza he delivered was money and one step closer to giving his grandson a better life. With the thought of his grandson's future in his mind, Barney drove to the address that winter morning.
The cold winter air froze everything on its path. With a deep sense of relief, Barney finally arrived at the address. His heart raced at seeing the angry client, a teenage boy named Fabian, on the doorstep.
"What took you so long "Fabian screamed. Barney observed the teen's anger and realized he wouldn't get any tips. However, he was fortunate enough that he was at least able to deliver the pizzas to the client.
Just as Barney made his way up the stairs with the pizza boxes, he fell down on the concrete, hurting his leg. And the 15 boxes of pizza he was holding went everywhere on the ground.
"How did they hire an old man like you Clean up the mess and get out! "Fabian made fun of Barney as he struggled to rise on his feet. To make things worse, Fabian's friends ganged up cruelly laughing at poor Barney. Barney realized he had broken his leg due to the e severe fall. Fabian's angry words kept ringing in Barney's head as he lay helpless and painful on the icy ground, crying.

One day in February 2016, when my friend, Austin, invited me to hike the Ka'au Crater Trail in Honolulu, I jumped at the chance. Together with four of his friends, Jack, Dan, Carson and Mali, we were excited to check out the challenging track. We'd see three waterfalls, and a volcanic crater.
Stretching over eight kilometers, there were no steps on the track—just muddy paths formed on the rock face by other hikers. Climbing upstream, the journey was not for the faint-hearted (胆小的) . We had to climb through thick roots and overgrown vegetation. But I knew the view from the top would be incredible. Finally, after an hour and a half, we stopped for our final rest before the peak.
"I'm going to check it out! "Austin said. "I'll join you, "I replied, eager to see the top.
Racing up the last stretch, I felt excited as I walked over to the edge of the final waterfall where I turned my camera on. When I moved closer to the edge to get a better look, my foot suddenly gave way on a wet rock, sending me falling feet-first over the edge.
I desperately reached out to hang on to any rocks but I couldn't get one as I fell to the bottom 15 meters below, scraping (刮) against rocks as I went.
As I fell, it felt like time stood still. "Was I going to be badly hurt " I thought.
In a moment of clarity (清醒) before I reached the bottom, I twisted my body to the side and tucked (蜷缩) myself in a ball. It was a position I'd learned in volleyball training, aimed at reducing the impact of a fall. Landing in the water with a huge splash, after around 20 seconds I managed to lift my head out, but struggled to breath and I could taste blood.
"I've got to get myself out, "I realized, walking out to reach the edge of the pool as my visions became unclear. Holding the rocks tightly, I felt pain tore through my body and blood flowed from deep wounds on my left arm and left bottom.

One night, when we were having dinner, suddenly Mom let out, "I have a great idea! "My sister Keira and I looked at each other, feeling confused and wondering what she wanted to say.
"What if, " she said, with a long pause, "we furnish Nancy's apartment while she's away "
Nancy, our nanny (保姆) had returned to her hometown to get her children and bring them back with her. When her children were only one and five years old, she had left them to work as a caregiver abroad where the working conditions were not very good. Later, through friends, Nancy heard that our country was the land of opportunity. With rich working experience, Nancy came to our house and here we got along well with each other although sometimes we had difficulty in communication because of language.
Five years after her arrival and working here, she was allowed to apply for a permanent resident's statue. It took so long to get it, so we celebrated with a cake the night the letter that informed her finally came.
"Could you do me a big favor "Nancy asked Mom before she left for her hometown. "I've ordered some mattresses (床垫) so we have something to sleep on when we arrive. Do you think you could receive them and let the delivery man deliver it into my apartment "
"No problem, "said Mom.
"Hey Mom, I hate to burst your bubble (幻想) , " I said, "but how are we possibly going to furnish an entire apartment "
"Well, we have some extra stuff in the attic, "she replied. "Maybe we can help our neighbors and Nancy at the same time. The neighbors can donate their extras, and we can piece together a great home for Nancy. Let's send an e-mail and see." So the e-mail went to about seventy neighbors in our community.

答案以及解析
一、答案:
Several minutes passed and the woman returned. "Is there anything wrong " I thought to myself. I actually thought she might have changed her mind and wanted a cup of lemonade after all. Of course, I couldn't have been more wrong. She was carrying an envelope this time. She handed it to us and said, "It is for Braxton. And I really hope that it can help him with his wish." We thanked her and she walked away. We opened the envelope after she left and found a $100 bill in it.
Holding the envelope and the bill, we were so moved. It was just a random act of kindness by a total stranger that would make a little five-year-old boy's wish come true. She didn't know us nor did she know our son. She obviously did not do it for praise or recognition. She just did it out of the kindness of her heart and we couldn't thank her enough. Contrary to what some may think, the positivity in this world really does outweigh the negative. And good people do exist.

"I've learned that Mr Smith needs someone to tidy his big garden," I told Bob. "We can do it!" cried Bob. Eager to bridge the gap in our funds, we immediately ran to Mr Smith's house and asked whether we could do the gardening services in exchange for the amount of money we needed. Mr Smith was delighted with our idea, so on the following weekend we worked hard to transform his garden into a lovely and tidy space. In this way, not only did we earn the funds we needed, but we also gained a grateful friend whose garden now bloomed with newfound beauty.
The next weekend, we went to the shelter with the new coffee maker excitedly. We also brought some coffee beans so that we could demonstrate how to use the machine, as well as enjoy coffee when chatting. The women at the shelter were overjoyed with our contribution, and my mother's eyes sparkled. I knew she was proud of us. As we left the shelter, it was raining and was a bit cold, but all of us felt warm in heart. Not only was Mum a superhero, but she also made us a superhero team, whose delight lied in every little help we could offer to others.

Ninny hugged the dollar bill, cake and the piece of paper to her chest. The man waved goodbye, never to be seen again. On bursting into her small house, Ninny shouted "I got you a beautiful cake!" Her grandfather boomed out a happy laugh as Ninny placed the chocolate cake on his lap. He was in his wheelchair, as always. "How much did this cost " Grandfather inquired. "Forty dollars, but a nice man gave us the money!" Grandmother was leaning against the doorway, wearing a bitter smile, a few groceries at her feet. "He also gave me this!" exclaimed Ninny, passing the paper to her grandfather.
Grandfather's eyes widened, "You won't believe it!" Ninny's eyes shone with curiosity upon hearing Grandfather's words. He cleared his throat and began. Years ago, he happened to see a young boy's request of buying a cake was turned down mercilessly. Without hesitation, Grandfather handed him $50 and the cake. He quickly wrote a message on a slip and handed it to the boy. Ninny's eyes beamed with disbelief, she screamed out with excitement, "You must have written: 'A simple act of kindness creates an endless ripple that cones back to you'." Grandfather nodded with a knowing smile.

When I got back, much to my surprise, the ticket counter told me the man had paid the entire fee for me. He left without me knowing his name, phone number or address, so I couldn't return him what he had paid. He helped me get home when I was in trouble. I was wondering what I could do to repay his kindness all the way.
When I was waiting to claim my luggage, a familiar figure caught my eye. It was the parachuter, who happened to have been on the same flight as me. I quickened my pace to catch up with him, saying, "Hi! I want to thank..." "It's OK." He cut in, holding out his hand and adding, "Nice to meet you. I'm Jack." With a grateful smile, I grasped his hand tightly and asked him for his address. Jack smiled heartily and said, "Never mind. I just want to help those in trouble as I was once treated." After that, he went away, leaving me in tears of gratitude. Watching his back disappeared from view, I decided to pass on the act of kindness.

My predictions had been wrong: Nick hadn't run fast, and he hadn't lost Little Friend. I thought Nick would throw Little Friend away because it must have influenced his speed. I felt relieved that Nick cared for his friend well when he was faced with a big challenge. My panic turned into relief and my worries disappeared. Nick completed his race without winning a prize, and there was Little Friend, riding on Nick's right thumb like a very small captain on a very tall ship. I remembered what Nick told me about tree crickets: They are good at holding on.
We walked to the car, smiling and passing by some bushes by the road. The bushes were good places for Little Friend, but I didn't dare to say that since I knew about their friendship had run its course. To my surprise, Nick bent down, said "Be free" to Little Friend gently and put it in the bushes. Little Friend hesitated at first but finally sprang from his finger and disappeared from our sight. Nick said, "I love it but I know it belongs to nature and it needs freedom most. That's what a friend should help it get, right " I smiled, realizing my son had grown up.

Word of the school garden reached the local community, sparking interest and support. Parents volunteered to share their gardening skills, and enthusiastically invested their time. Local businesses generously donated gardening materials. More importantly, other school kids came to help every day after school. Working together, they planted more flowers and grass, repaired the fences, and made the whole garden tidy and beautiful. It didn't take long for the storm-destroyed garden to get recovered; moreover, it was transformed into a community hub, and became a source of pride for Greenfield, symbolizing what could be achieved through teamwork and determination.
Years later, Emily, Jake, and Olivia stood in the garden, delighted to find it more prosperous than before. Not only were their familiar flowers blooming, but there were other plants they didn't grow, like sunflowers. The once-ruined space had been transformed into a symphony of colors and scents. More importantly, the garden worked as an outdoor classroom for kids to learn and practice gardening knowledge, and it was a place where they learned teamwork, responsibility, and the wonders of the natural world. As the three friends watched a new generation of students tending to the garden, they felt proud of their hard work before, and knew that the garden would still continue to grow for years to come.

There was a big table with all kinds of stuff on it. It was like Christmas. They had taken up a collection and bought me school supplies, notebooks, all kinds of different clothes, tops, sweatsuits, etc. I was overcome by emotion. People who had never spoken to me before were coming up to me to introduce themselves. I got all kinds of invitations to their houses. Their genuine outpouring of concern really touched me. In that instant, I finally breathed a sigh of relief and thought for the first time that things were going to be okay. I made so many friends that day and I decided to move on and look on the bright side of life.
A week later, I was planning my new bedroom when the doorbell rang. "Does this cat belong to you " asked a woman at the door. I couldn't believe my eyes. She was holding my cat! I leaped up and grabbed her out of the woman's arms. I held her close to me and she purred happily. Apparently, my cat had been so freaked by the fire that she ran away. This wonderful woman took her in and worked hard to find out whose cat it was. As I sat there with my cat curling up in my lap, all the overwhelming feelings of loss and tragedy seemed to diminish. I felt gratitude for my life, my new friends, and the kindness of a stranger. My cat was back and so was I.

So, I decided to solve it in my way. I separated plants, collected water bottles and spent hours making labels. At this stage, these plants had become like my children. I understood why people referred to themselves as plant parents, as they devoted time and effort into a tiny life form. I had such a deep affection for those plants that I couldn't wait to give them new homes. My aim was to offer them at an affordable price and ensure a modest profit, so I decided on 50 cents per plant.
The result was better than I had thought. I even managed to generate a decent profit from it. I owed much to my parents-my mom shared the art of marketing the product, while my dad taught me how to attract potential customers. Better still, I found my passion for gardening and running a small business. As of now, I am planning for this year's tomato plant business, eagerly anticipating the exciting tomato adventure that awaits. That's why tomatoes have become the magical fruit in my life.

After the game, a young man approached me and asked if I'd like to play for his team. I couldn't believe it! A coach wanted me on his team He'd seen the catch I'd made and the way I "moved like an athlete" on the field and thought I might make a good pitcher. The next day, knowing I was actually going to play, I went to the sporting goods store to buy a mitt. Excited as a kid, I took my new mitt home, remembering how to break it in.
But it turned out that the coach was right: I could pitch (投). I played with them until I retired at age forty. We went undefeated six of those years, and I had been named the most valuable player five times. Playing the game enriched my life and the lives of my family in countless ways. My children grew up assuming women played sports just like men. But none of it would have happened if I hadn't cut out that little article, nervously signed up to play ball and dared to take a chance on fulfilling my childhood I dream. So we should I not let our fears hold us back from pursuing our hopes.

"We were just walking but Randy somehow dropped, "Kevin said in tears. "Where is it now " I asked. "Just at my house, he answered. We quickly got into the car and drove to his house. It was a small old farmhouse. As we approached, I saw Randy just lying outside the doorway. We hurried to have a close look at it. "He's still alive!"Kevin cried, "We need a vet!" We two quickly carried Randy into the car.
As I drove to the animal hospital, Kevin sat in the back and kept talking to the dog. Luckily, Randy was saved in time. "Randy! You've come back to me! "Kevin said in a choked voice. Then he turned to me and said gratefully "If you hadn't come earlier, Randy would have gone! Thank you very much..." Tears welled up in his eyes. "It's nothing, Kevin." I patted him on the shoulder. Just at that moment, I realized: There is always a whispered urging in our heart and mind to do something good.

So Albert gathered the ruined pizza boxes and called the pizza shop to inform them of the accident. Soon an ambulance arrived. The man then accompanied Barney to the hospital in the ambulance. He dared not imagine what could have happened if he wasn't there on time.
Later, Albert tried to teach his son to know the value of hard work and respecting people. Albert explained, "The old man delivered pizzas only to expect his grandson to have a better future. However, you wasted time and money throwing parties when you should be studying. And all he wanted was a small amount of tip from you. What you did was not how you should treat an elderly man." Having realized his mistake, Fabian lowered his head. Albert then took Fabian to the hospital where Barney stayed. The father and son apologized to Barney for the rude behavior. In addition, Albert paid Barney's medical bill and gave Barney a large enough tip. Barney couldn't help but feel grateful for Albert's kindness.

Moments later, Austin arrived and raced down the track. I struggled to communicate with him because of my difficulty with breathing. Austin refused to leave my side and desperately called out for help. When two hikers rushed to my aid, relief flooded through me. Phoning a rescue team, they held my hands tightly and told me help was on its way. Soon after, our friends found us and did their best to keep me calm. When the helicopter arrived 45 minutes later, the crew carried me onto a stretcher to safety.
I was airlifted to a waiting ambulance, then rushed to the hospital. There, the medical staff gave me a thorough examination and I had surgery four days later. "You're lucky you landed the way you did,"one surgeon said after the surgery, adding if I hadn't reacted that way, my injuries could have been a lot worse. Throughout the following week, e-mails and texts kept flooding in. Our neighbors promised to send different kinds of furniture, such as chairs and kitchen tables. One neighbor even offered some flowers and another brought curtains. After collecting all these things, we worked together happily to decorate the apartment.
