No matter how you feel about it. AI is here. So, which types of jobs are most at risk What’s the best way to stay relevant
According-to a Goldman Sachs study, most jobs and industries are only partially exposed to automation and are thus more likely to be complemented (辅助) rather than replaced by AI So, which are the most endangered
Joc Apfelbaum, who teaches how to use AI through his course, says most at risk are jobs that use a process that can be done faster and cheaper with AI like forming products or filing tax returns.
Shannan Monson, a founder and educator, says the outlook is not that negative. “We didn’t stop washing our dishes just because the dishwasher was invented. We simply get to do it faster, easier, and with less effort.” Paul Canetti, a professor at Columbia Business School, says that decision-makers and people managers are safe because AI can’t motivate or relate to humans.
As AI develops, its application might not be as fast as we think. But those who are well-learned in it quickly are at more of an advantage. Canetti says there is going to be “a long period of transition (过渡期),where you can perform incredibly well at your job by taking advantage of these new tools before the average person does.”
Experts agree that distinctly human skills will remain the most valuable. Humans are uniquely qualified there and human-to-human work is going to be hardest to replace. “Focus on building your skills as a team player and a team leader” Monson says. Apfelbaum argues that it’s not just about reskilling, but rather people need to get over their fears and get complete with who they are so they can show up with all their creativity since AI does not have passion and real human creativity.
28. What may be affected most by AI
A. Managing human resources. B. Reporting taxes.
C. Making decisions. D. Releasing new products.
29. What might Apfelbaum and Monson agree with
A. We can’t stop AI controlling our life. B. We needn’t overestimate AI’s impact.
C. Adopting AI makes humans lazy. D. Employing Al in life is effortless.
30. What does the underlined word “it” in paragraph 5 refer to
A. AI’s outlook. B. AI’s development. C. AI’s application. D. AI’s advantage.
31. What is the function of the last paragraph
A. To discuss ways to get relevant to AI. B. To explore human emotions AI affects.
C. To present arguments AI has caused D. To exhibit AI’s creativity in workplaces.
D
I’m sure you’ve all taken some personality tests, like MBTI test or those in psychology class, that can be great for icebreaker activities but how do introversion and extroversion (内向与外向) play out in our daily lives
An introverted brain has a high automatic system reactivity which means that they are far less likely to seek out stimulation. Hence, introverts tend to be less social, avoid conflict and often process things the best when alone. Extroverts, however, draw their attention from the environment because of their brain’s low stimulation. They seek out social situations and often feel more comfortable in group settings.
Our current education system emphasizes the need for “collaborative learning”, “project-based learning” and “flipped classrooms (翻转课堂)”. In this system, introversion in students can be commonly misinterpreted by teachers as boredom or problematic issues. Furthermore, introverted students are less likely to participate in group discussions, and oftentimes feel more pressure and anxiety to become extroverted. These feelings can easily flow into other aspects of life and impact an introvert’s social and academic life.
However, there are still upsides to being an introvert. Introverts may not always thrive in the social aspects of a class, but their intense concentration and tendency to be organized and methodical can reflect further success in conventional forms of education like grades and exams. On average, more intelligent children are-found to be introverts than extroverts.
So, what can teachers do Firstly, one of the most important steps is recognizing; understanding the need to accommodate introverted students, while supporting extroverted students. For example, teachers can redefine participation. Participation shouldn’t just represent the times a student raises their hand or speaks in a discussion. Helping others, volunteering, revising work, etc. all reflect a student’s participation in the class. Besides, they can consider playing with space. Grouped desks might be great for extroverts but consider creating “quiet zones” for students willing to focus on a task or create submission boxes for introverted students to leave their discussion thought.
32. What is the cause of the difference between introverts and extroverts
A. Communication abilities. B. Attitude towards conflicts.
C. Problem processing capability. D. Brain reactivity to stimulation.
33. What does the underlined word “thrive” in paragraph 4 mean
A. Succeed. B. Emerge. C. Withdraw. D. Struggle.
34. What does the author suggest teachers do
A. Develop students’ self-management skills
B. Guide students to develop intense concentration.
C. Encourage students to participate in class debates.
D. Create an introvert-friendly learning environment.
35. What can be a suitable title for the text
A. Introverts & Extroverts: How Students React to Teaching
B. Psychology of Personality: Challenges of Being Introverted
C. Introverts & Extroverts: When Classrooms Overlook Introverts
D. Psychology of Personality: Discussions on Class Participation

I stared at the stuff my mom placed near my vegetable. Right. A whole week. She kept seven recipes, each one labelled with a day of week. Today was Meatloaf Monday. Again.
I kept complaining about the food. “Malia,” mom continued serving the twins, saying, “You are 11. You should be setting an example.”
The next day in school’s kitchen classroom, our teacher announced we would have a competition to finish off our unit on kitchen skills. An eager chatting traveled through the class.
“I’m going to win,” said Tania, “My dad’s the best cook. I’ve got talent.” Right. Tania’s dad is good at cooking. I love having supper at her house. But I also wanted to win. I thought about my talent and decided that I would practice by making supper tonight.
After school, I told mom my determination, but she was nervous. I hurried to the kitchen. Thinking about Tania’s dad’s saying - good ingredients (食材) make good meals, I took whatever I thought was good from the cupboard. Then remembering mom’s saying - health matters, I found more vegetables. I put all together in the soup pot and turned on the burner. Soon later, the stuff I cooked turned messy. The twins whispered about my failure but my mom stopped them, “Malia worked hard on this.”
After supper, as I was throwing my work in the compost (堆肥), Mrs. Benny, my neighbour, spotted me. Learning what happened, she smiled and invited me to come over to her garden.
The next day, I laboured in Mrs. Benny’s garden, picking vegetables. Together, we collected some fresh ingredients. “Touch and smell the plants. If you see something you like, place it into the bowl.” I followed that and picked out fresh potatoes and onions. She recalled how she went from getting no idea about cooking to falling in love with it. “The secret is using all your senses - sight, smell, taste, touch, hearing. Listen to your stomach. Don’t rush.” she said.

One possible version:
Dear Terry,
I’m writing to share with you a PE class I had at Qingyuan Mountain last week. During the class, we participated fresh outdoor activities in the scenic area.
I engaged in a hike up the mountain trails, where we enjoyed breathtaking views and fresh air. Our hiking started from appreciating the Laojun Rock to reaching the viewing platform on the hillside, with some rest halfway to admire the leaves and ancient buildings.
The experience was refreshing. Being surrounded by nature made the physical activities less tiring. And under my teacher’s guidance, we have learned to better treasure the local culture.
I hope you find this experience interesting!
Best regards,
Li Hua
第二节(满分25分)
【作答示例】
One possible version:
Inspired by Mrs. Benny’s words, I started to practice right away. In Mrs. Benny’s kitchen, I carefully selected the materials, paying close attention to their freshness. I experimented with different combinations, adjusting the seasonings and cooking techniques based on how the materials reacted. The following days witnessed my daily efforts. By the end of the week, my dishes were improving, and I felt more confident and decided to present a noodle. During the class competition, I was surprised that my dish earned the teacher’s praises on the flavors of my presentation.
After the competition, I went home with the dish cheerfully. I placed the dish on the table with a smile, announcing what I had achieved to my family. My mom tasted the noodle and looked at me with surprise and pride. “Malia, this is wonderful! You’ve really put your heart into this,” she said. The twins enjoyed that too, and I felt a warm sense of accomplishment. My hard work had paid off, and I truly learned that cooking was not just about following recipes but about creativity, patience, and using all my senses.

M: Hi, Lynn. I saw you at registration yesterday. I sailed right through, but you were standing in a long line.
W: Hi, Anderson. I was signing up for a distance-learning course.
M: Well, what is it
W: It’s a course on child psychology. We need to watch a twelve-week series of televised lessons. The department shows them seven different times a day.
M: Don’t you have to meet with the professor
W: Yeah. After each part of the series I talk to her and other students on the phone about our ideas. Then we’ll meet on campus three times for reviews and exams.
M: It sounds pretty non-traditional. But it makes sense, considering how it will cut down on traffic.
W: Not only that. Last year my department did a survey and they found out that 80 percent of all psychology majors were employed. That’s why they came up with the program.
M: Doesn’t it seem impersonal I mean, I enjoy having class discussions and hearing what other people think.
W: Well, I guess that’s why phone contact is important. Anyway, it’s an experiment. Maybe I’ll end up hating it.
M: Maybe. But I’ll be curious to see how it works up.

Lynn Colwell is an artist in Redmond, Washington. In grade school, a teacher told her she had no artistic talent and Lynn believed her. Until 2015, that is, when she retired. She started painting striking pictures of women’s faces, combined with short messages of hope. In five years, she’s completed about 1,000 paintings. Then she read about a movement called Art Abandonment, which encourages artists to leave their art in public places for anyone to pick up. That gave her the idea of putting her work into the hands of strangers through Facebook.
Lynn wanted to feel she was making a difference in the world. She was interested in living simply, protecting the environment and giving back. She wondered if her paintings could inspire others. What if she asked people to donate to their favorite nonprofit in exchange for one of her works Five years later, her paintings have raised more than $57,000 for nonprofits such as animal rescue centers, homeless shelters and for people who have lost their jobs or been struggling with medical bills. Lynn spends most of her time in her art studio – there’s painting to be done. “I wake up every day and can’t wait to get started,” she says.
