三、阅读理解(共5小题,每小题5分)
Blind people used to get around with the help of a walking stick. They tap it along the ground as they move. At the same time, dogs are trained to help them, too. These guide dogs lead blind people through busy areas. When blind people are in a new place, they can ask others for directions(方向). Then they pass on the information to the guide dog by using the right orders.
Now there is a new technology that can help blind people when they are in a new place. It is GPS. GPS stands for Global Positioning System. GPS can tell a blind person exactly where he or she is. It uses satellites(卫星) in space to work.
Blind people who use GPS carry around a tiny receiver. The tiny receiver works like a talking map! First, the receiver gets signals(信号) from satellites in space. Then, a computer guides the users with voice orders. Finally, the user listens for exact directions.
GPS also lets people know what is around them. It tells the name of the street that is coming up. It may even tell the user about a park or a store nearby. Blind GPS users have a better idea about their neighbourhood. They feel better about travelling alone. They feel good about getting to new places.
Many scientists think that GPS still has room for improvement. For example, GPS will call the police as soon as possible when the blind people have an emergency(紧急情况) in the future. We all hope that the blind people will live like healthy people with the help of GPS.

四、书面表达
答案:
Technology changes our life and inventions are around us. In my daily life, the computer has become an important part. And it changed me a lot. With the help of the computer, I can search for some useful information and read different kinds of books. By receiving and sending emails, I can communicate with my friends freely. If I have some problems with my study, I can discuss them with my classmates on the Internet. If I feel stressed from time to time, I can listen to music online to relax myself. I can also buy all kinds of things online.
But if I meet some difficult problems in my homework, I often look for answers on the Internet. This makes me lazy and too much computer work is bad for my eyes. So I think everyone should use the computer wisely.
