Here are some common ways to say thank you.
You can write a thank-you note. People are very busy these days. A handwritten note shows you took the time to tell someone you are grateful to him or her. Or you can call and thank the person. You would be surprised how this can make someone’s day. Another idea is to send a thank-you e-mail. This is not quite personal, but it still shows your gratitude.

It might be fun to use your smartphone, but be careful. Too much screen time may be harmful to your health.
First, it is bad for your eyes. A researcher called Sarah Hinkley says the problem comes from the blue light that the screen gives out. Looking at a smartphone for a long time can cause eye strain(劳损),headaches and dry eyes. So it is a good idea to take a break every 15 minutes when you are working at a computer or using a smartphone.
Second, screen use can do harm to children's brains. A new study shows that using screens too much can affect how children's brains grow. If children use screens for more than one hour a day, they might have lower levels of white matter in their brains. White matter is a key to the development of languages and reading skills. So it is wise to cut down the time of children using all kinds of screens.
Third, using screens too much will affect your sleep. According to a study, about 95% of the people between the ages of 13 and 64 use electrical devices before bedtime, especially the young people under 20.Doctors say that the light from those electrical devices at night may make you excited before you go to bed. A Town Mouse once visited her relative who lived in the country. The Country Mouse served her a simple meal of roots and acorns with nothing more than a splash of cold water to drink The Town Mouse ate but sparingly, nibbling a little of this and a little of that and making it clear that she was eating merely to be polite. After the meal, the cousins had a long talk——or rather, the Town Mouse talked about her wonderful life in the city while the Country Mouse listened. As they slept that night in the Country Mouse's unadorned nest in a hedgerow, the Country Mouse dreamed about all the luxuries and wonders of city life that her cousin had described for her. The next day, when the Town Mouse asked the Country Mouse to visit her home in the city, the latter readily agreed.
They reached the mansion in town where the Town Mouse lived, and in the dining room they were delighted to find the leavings of a marvelous banquet. The table was spread with sweetmeats and jellies, pastries of all kinds, delicious cheeses, and in all the most tempting food a mouse could wish for. But just as the Country Mouse was about to nibble on a bit of pastry, they heard a cat scratching and mewing at the door. In great fear for their lives, the two mice scurried off to a hiding place. They lay there for a long time, as still as death, scarcely daring to breathe. Finally, they recovered enough of their courage to poke a nose out of their hiding place——but as they did so the back door suddenly swung open and in came the house servants to clean up the room. And with them came a great romping dog, who sniffed about the room searching for the mice.
The Country Mouse grabbed up her bag and umbrella and headed for the exit. “You may have luxuries and dainties that I lack,” she told her cousin as she hurried away, “but I prefer the peace and security of the countryside!”
