In Western countries, some people think the number 13 brings bad luck. In the past, a lot of tall buildings didn’t even have a 13th floor. However, there aren’t really any other numbers that are special in this way in the West.
There are superstitions (迷信) about some numbers in China as well. For example, the number “4” is said to be unlucky because it sounds like the Chinese word for “death”. But that’s just one small example of China’s obsession (迷恋) with numbers.
When I first came here, I was surprised to see that many websites had numbers in their names instead of letters. Because Chinese characters (文字) cannot be used for website addresses. They can only use numbers or the letters of the Roman alphabet.
In pinyin, the telecom company China Unicom is called Zhongguo Liantong. If the company used their pinyin name for their website address, it would be quite long. So instead, they use their customer service hotline number —. This is easier to type and remember.
In addition, the pronunciations (发音) of some numbers sound similar to other words in Chinese. This makes for some clever wordplay. For example, the numbers “5-2-0” in Chinese sound similar to the pronunciation of the Chinese phrase “I love you”. Many couples choose to get married on May 20 for this reason.
It is interesting to see how Chinese people have used numbers in so many different ways. “88” for now!

43.What’s the website address of the telecom company China Unicom in the passage
A.. B..

B.Because it always falls on a weekend.
C.Because 5, 2 and 0 are all lucky numbers in China.
D.Because its Chinese pronunciation is similar to “I love you”.
45.What’s the best title of this passage

C.Lucky number in China D.Lucky number in Western countries

Do you like painting Do you like dancing As we all know, Chinese traditional painting and dance are two important parts of the art world. 56 This year, a dance program named The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting (《只此青绿》) was shown on CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala (春晚). According to CCTV, the idea of this poetic dance program came from a famous Chinese painting created by Song Dynasty painter Wang Ximeng. 57 Groups of mountains rise and fall between cloudless sky and running water.
58 Their green and blue clothes were also a poetic expression of the mountains and rivers. When the dancers shook their bodies softly, people seemed to be looking at the moving mountains and rivers. Some people said, “More than a thousand years later, green mountains and rivers still surprise people as they did long ago.” 59
In recent years, more and more shows in the theaters pay more attention to traditional Chinese culture and have received warm welcome. 60 Also, the younger generations (一代人) welcome Chinese culture and are proud of it.
A.I also want to learn this dance.
B.It shows a Chinese blue-green landscape (风景).
C.But what about when they meet each other
D.My family love the wonderful dance program very much.

阅读短文回答问题(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
‘Made in China’ means quality
For a long time, “made in China” made people think of cheap, low-quality goods. China was just the world’s factory. But now Chinese brands are going global and being recognized.
Time magazine recently released a list of the 100 most influential companies in the world. Several Chinese companies were included, such as tech giants Alibaba, Huawei, Tencent, DJI, TikTok and DiDi Chuxing.
These companies are shaping the world with advanced technology. Time reported that DJI holds 70 percent of the global drone market. This year, it launched a new drone with a set of glasses that give users a first-person view of their drone’s flight. TikTok has become one of the most popular apps in the US with its never-ending stream of videos. Some 50 million US users spend an average of 46 minutes on it every day.
Chinese fashion has also attracted global consumers. In 2011, Chinese sneaker brands Feiyue, Huili and Li-Ning gained international attention. More recently, Shein has become one of the most popular Chinese fast fashion brands overseas. In 2020, its operating income reached over 10 billion dollars, an increase of 100 percent over the previous year, Global Times reported. Many European consumers say Shein is affordable, fashionable and of high quality.
In the future, Chinese brands will continue to develop. Thanks to a bigger market, improved supply chains and efficient manufacturing, “this is the best era for the development of local brands,” Yan Qiang, a partner with Beijing-based Hejun Consulting, told Global Times.
71.What will come to people’s minds when we mention “made in China” in the past
72.How did many Chinese companies enter the Time’s list
73.What’s the advantage of DJI’s new drone
74.Why do many European buyers like Shein
75.Why will Chinese brands develop quickly in the future

A.. B..
C.. D..
44.Why do many couples in China choose to get married on May 20

45.What’s the best title of this passage
