Main content: The topic of this listening and teaching part is asking about online habits. The listening text of this section is an investigation interview. The investigators interview specific groups with the same questions to obtain information about their online habits including time spent online each day, online activities and reasons for using the Internet.

The purpose of the listening text is mainly to allow students to investigate their peers’ online habits and to master listening strategies.
It can also help them reflect on their own online behavior, learn from other people's good online habits, and get rid of their bad online behavior.

The listening text is a conversation with strong interactivity. The oral discourse structure of a survey generally includes greeting and explaining the purpose of the interview, presenting the interview questions and the respondents’ answers.
04Analysis ofstudents This lesson is designed for the senior one high school students who are creative and passionate. They are competent to learn, eager to explore and active to create. However, they lack proper listening skills and strategies. Their high-order thinking ability to express themselves is limited. Therefore, teamwork and cooperation activities are designed to help them.
Many middle school students have been surfing the Internet for many years, but they seldom talk about their peers’ online habits or reflect on their own online habits. So, in this period, students will reflect on their own online behavior, learn from other people's good online habits, and get rid of their bad online behavior.

This lesson is designed based on the concept of the big idea and the Activity-based Approach to English Learning. Learning objectives can be effectively achieved. Learning activities are well designed from learning, applying and creating. Students can master some listening strategies and raise their awareness of forming healthy online habits based on a series of specially designed activities. In the process of learning, students changed from not paying attention to their online habits initially to reflecting on their online habits and finally to forming healthy online habits. Students also achieve the transition from knowledge to ability. Besides, ongoing assessments are designed from peer-assessment checklist during class to the self-assessment after class. However, because of the limited time in class, students don’t have much time to practice and apply the listening strategy--shorthand.
