在句中作宾语的从句叫宾语从句。本单元主要学习由that, whether / if引导的宾语从句。掌握宾语从句的引导词、时态及语序是学习宾语从句的关键。
仔细观察下面的例句,然后补全结论部分所缺的内容。
一、关联词
【例句】
1. I think (that) math is difficult.
She said (that) she would leave a note on the desk.
陈述句作宾语时,宾语从句用that引导。它在只起连接作用,没有实际意义,在从句中不充当任何成分,因此常可省略。
2. I don’t know whether / if I should take his advice.
He wants to know if/ whether you are a doctor.
一般疑问句作宾语时,宾语从句用if或whether引导。它们在句子中的意思是是否, 在从句中不充当任何成分,但不可省略。
一般来说,在宾语从句中if与whether可以互换使用。但在特殊情况下,两者不能互换。只能用whether,不能用if引导的情况:
1) 在介词的后面
e.g. I’m thinking of whether we should go to see the film.
2) 与or not直接连用
e.g. I don’t know whether or not they can get there on time.
二、语序
3. I don't know whether / if she will go to Beijing tomorrow.
that, whether / if 引导的宾语从句要用陈述句语序。
三、时态
4. I know (that) Jack is a hard-working student.
I know (that) he will take the exam.
宾语从句的时态一般受主句时态的影响。如果主句是一般现在时或一般将来时,that, whether / if 引导的宾语从句可根据需要使用适当的时态。
5. Linda didn’t say if her aunt was still with them.
当主句是一般过去时,从句要用相应的过去时态。
6. Dad told me that the sun rises in the east.
Teresa told her son that leaves turn yellow in autumn.
当从句表示的是名言、客观真理或自然现象等时,一般不受主句时态的限制,用一般现在时。

找出感叹句中的主语。

用来表达喜、怒、哀、乐等强烈感情的句子叫感叹句。感叹句一般用what或how引导,句末用感叹号。what修饰名词,how修饰形容词或副词。

2) What + adj. + 可数名词复数(+主谓语)!

2. how引导的感叹句:
How + adj. / adv. + 主语 + 谓语!

注意:一般情况下,以what和how开头的感叹句可以相互转换,转换后意义不变。
