Step 3 Grammar疑问词引导的宾语从句
在复合句中,由一个句子充当宾语,这个句子叫做宾语从句。引导宾语从句的常见关联词有that, if, whether, who, where, why和how等。
当一个特殊疑问句充当宾语时,由原来的疑问词what, who, which, when, where, how, why等作为引导宾语从句的关联词,这些词在宾语从句中充当一定的句子成分,都有各自的词义,不可省略。
语序
宾语从句必须是陈述句语序。如:

时态
宾语从句的时态与主句的时态息息相关:如果主句是现在的某种时态,则宾语从句的时态可根据实际情况而定;如果主句是过去的某种时态,则宾语从句一般要用相应的过去时态(宾语从句表示客观真理除外)。如:

My aunt asked me when I would buy a new car.
转换
当宾语从句中的主语与主句的主语或宾语一致时,可使用“关联词+动词不定式(短语)”结构对从句进行改写。如:
I really don’t know which book I should buy. = I really don’t know which book to buy.
