Because Paul finally helped the team win the match,the coach thought he was a great player instead of a short and weak player.
He may have learnt that he should never judge a person by his physical appearance but according to his ability.
2. What role did the writer play in the story
He understood Paul’s dream and saw his potential. When he was injured in the match, he advised the coach to give Paul a chance to realize his dream. He is a true friend.
Paul and I were on our school basketball team, The Lions. We were both huge fans of the NBA.
