作副词,“几乎不；几乎没有”，表否定意义。常位于实义动词前，系动词/助动词/情态动词之后。
【辨析】hardly 与hard
hardly从构词上可以看作由hard加-ly构成，但是它并不是hard的副词形式，区别如下：
hardly副词，意为“几乎不；几乎没有”，常与ever, any等连用
hard形容词，意为“困难的；硬的”;副词，意为“努力地；猛烈地”
