We all use passwords and ID numbers on the Internet. We think we are safe, but that may not be true! A new kind of attack(攻击) is being used by dishonest people to steal IDs and credit (信用) card numbers from Internet surfers. It is called “phishing”.
Phishing sounds the same as “fishing” and it means that a thief is trying to trick people into giving away valuable information. Like real fishermen, phishers use bait(诱饵). For example, phishers might use false emails to trick people into showing credit card numbers, usernames and passwords. They copy well-known banks, online sellers and credit card companies. Successful phishers may make as many as 5% of the people believe and give away their personal information.
It’s really a big problem! Actually, tricking 5% of the online population is huge. Now more than 4.6 billion people have been connected on the Internet. It has been reported that phishers send more than 40 billion false messages each year. Even by tricking only 5% of the people, phishers can make much money.

Wuzhen left me a great impression during my recent four-day stay there.
Free WiFi in public areas is now available there. Such service is common in cities, but I didn’t imagine there was such service in a small town like Wuzhen. When I arrived at Wuzhen one late evening, I couldn’t wait to do two things: connect to WiFi and go around the town. Where there’s the Internet, there is a way.
I found a bicycle station along the street. A notice guided me on how to get a bike using my smart phone. The whole process (过程) took me about 10 minutes, but it was worth it because it offered two-hour free ride.
Later, the locals told me hundreds of such bicycles became available at the beginning of last year. Hundreds of new-energy vehicles are also available for a small fee (费用). Again, all you need is a smart phone to make use of the service.
I rode across streets and roads, past many places. I found the Internet was used everywhere in the town.
I’ve interviewed many officials in other areas of China. And I often wanted to remain connected with them through WeChat. However, many of them would just excuse themselves, saying they don’t use the social media as they have too many things to do every day. How I wish they would hear one of Wuzhen’s officials who said, “Nowadays, very few things can be completed without the Internet, and I’m sure we can reach further by using it.”

Seventy percent of our planet is covered by one huge, continuous (连续的) body of seawater – the ocean. In 2008, the United Nations recognized (确立) June 8 as World Oceans Day. It’s a day to think about the important role that the oceans play in our lives, the dangers that are facing our oceans and the action we can take to protect them.
The ocean is home to the majority (大多数) of plants and animals on Earth. Marine (海洋的) plants provide us with 70 percent of the oxygen we breathe. The ocean controls our climate (气候), providing heat in winter and cool air in summer. It also provides us with food and medicine. No matter where you live on the planet, no matter how far from the sea, your life is dependent on the ocean.
The most urgent problem the ocean is facing at the moment is plastic pollution. Reducing single-use plastic, including plastic bags and plastic bottles, has been an important theme for World Oceans Day for a number of years. Climate change and rising sea temperatures are also a huge problem. Rising sea temperatures have a direct influence on weather patterns (模式) and are seen as partly responsible for an increase in extreme weather conditions.
The day is celebrated in a variety of ways, including special events at aquariums (水族馆) and zoos, beach and river clean-ups, school activities, art contests and film festivals. You can join in to remind people about the importance of our oceans and to make a difference.
