(1)dare v. 的用法:
dare to do sth. 敢于做某事
eg:他不敢说出他的想法。
He didn't dare to say what he thought.
(2)dare 还可作情态动词,主要用于否定句和疑问句中。

eg:她不敢一个人在晚上出去。

(1). pity n. “遗憾;可惜”,可数名词,但往往只用单数形式,前面常加不定冠词a
It is/was a pity (for sb.) to do/not to do sth. 很遗憾(某人)做/不做某事。
eg:很遗憾你不能和我们一起去巴黎。
It is a pity for you not to go to Paris with us.
It is/was a pity+that从句. 很遗憾……
eg:很遗憾他不能来。
