Baidu's sixth--generation autonomous(自主的；独立的)driving vehicles have been
deployed in Wuhan since May 2024.These vehicles,equipped with Baidu's
Autonomous Driving Foundation Model solution,claim to reach Level 4 autonomous
driving.
Most running vehicles in Wuhan are Baidu's fifth-generation "Apollo Moon"cars.
In Wuhan,there are two types of robotaxi:fully driverless mode supervised()by
remote safety operators and those with human drivers.
As of April,Baidu's autonomous driving program has driven 100 million kilometers
without a major casualty(伤亡人员)incident,.but a minor accident happened in
Hanyang District on July 7.
In fact,the service has been introduced to numerous cities in China.As of now,
Baidu has opened manned test operation services in 11 cities and is conducting fully
driverless autonomous driving service tests in Beijing,Wuhan,Chongqing,Shenzhen
and Shanghai.
The rising demand for lower-price robotaxi worries taxi drivers.New job
opportunities (are emerging in this field.China's Ministry of Human Resources
and Social Security(中国人力资源和社会保障部)plans to add new professions
related to this sector.
