1. 两者进行比较,表示“一方比另一方更……”
1) A+ be+ 形容词比较级+ than+ B
如:我比我妹妹高。
I am taller than my sister.
2) A+ 实义动词+副词的比较级+ than+ B
如:他跑得比我快。
He runs faster than me.
2. 两者进行比较,表示“一方与另一方一样……”
1) A+ be + as+ 形容词原级+ as+ B
如:Peter和Paul一样瘦。
Peter is as thin as Paul.
2) A+ 实义动词+ as+ 副词原级+ as+ B
如:他工作和Jane一样努力。
He works as hard as Jane.
3. get/ become… and… 变得越来越……
get/ become后面接“比较级+and +比较级”,这是表示“变得越来越……”。若比较级是加-er构成的,则用“比较级+and+比较级”的形式。如比较级是多音节词,就用“more and more+原级”结构。
如:Your English is getting better and better.
She becomes more and more popular.
4. “the +比较级+of the two…”表示“两者中较……的”。
如:Peter is the taller of the two.
补充句式
5. “the +比较级+其它, the +比较级+其它”,此句型表示“越……,就越……”。
如:The higher you stand, the farther you can see.
6.Which/ who…, A or B “哪个/ 谁更……,A还是B?”
or与选择疑问句相连,且有两者提供选择,前面的形容词要用比较形式。
如:Which do you like better, water or orange juice
注意:1. 在比较级前可用much/ a lot(……得多), even(甚至), still(更), a little(一点), a bit(有点)等来修饰,表示程度进一步加深。
very, quite, too, enough后只能接形容词或副词的原级。
如:Kate is a little taller than Mary.
