Step I Warm up and lead-in Show the learning objectives. Present the pictures and question: the difference between the class before and today’s class. Present the requirement of the game and walk around the class. Read the learning objectives aloud. Observe the pictures and answer the question. Prepare for the game and speak out the words in Unit3 as quickly as they can. Raise students’ learning interest and lead in the topic.
Step II: Pre-reading Fact 1 Present the definition of “computer” Show some machines that have computer inside. Show three questions and ask students to answer after learning the passage. Learn the definition. Say out the names of machines. Learn about the questions. Update students’ awareness of “computer”.
Step III While-reading Show the multiply choice.(About the genre) Show the ppt and ask Ss to complete the outline of the article. Fact 2 Play the tape and lead Ss to learn about the first part. Fact 3 Show the mind map and lead Ss to learn about the second part.Present the uses of computers.(COMPUTER) Share some dangerous jobs that computers can do. Lead Ss to describe computers. Fact 4 Present L19-L23 of the passage and show two questions. Present L24-L26 of the passage and lead Ss to answer the three question in the text. Present the pictures and ask Ss to think about “ How can we solve the problems ”(Careful and rational) Finish the exercise plete the outline with group members. Listen carefully and finish the blank. Read Part 2 and complete the mind map. Say out the uses of computers according to the pictures. Learn about the importance of computers. Use some adjectives to describe computers. Read L19-L23 and answer the questions. Read L24-L26 and answer the three question in the text. Talk about the questions. Learn another 3 facts and make Ss realize the importance of computers.
Step IV Post-reading Conclusion: Lead Ss to answer the three questions that raised at the beginning of the class. Act out: Huali computer auction(拍卖会):Present the assignment and walk around to observe students’ work. Answer the three questions. Finish the task in groups. Learn to cooperate with others and check if students mastered the key points.
