Newton: Learn from our predecessors.
As the builder of Newton’s laws of motion and the law of universal gravitation, Newton is one the most influential scientist throughout the history, and he is considered as the “father of physics”. His discovery paved the way for the modern physics and mechanics.
As a kid, Newton liked to read books about how to make simple mechanical models.Besides, he had strong curiosity and good creativity. In the fall of 1665, Newton was sitting under the apple tree when an apple fell at his head. He began to think why this happened. After conducting a lot of research and thinking outside the box, Newton finally discovered phenomenon of the apple. That was how the theory of gravity was born.

John Snow: defeats “King Cholera”
Cholera used to be one of the most feared diseases, for no one knew how to prevent or treat it. In the early 19th century, when ___1____outbreak of cholera hit Europe, millions of people died from the disease. John Snow was a famous doctor in London, who even ____2____( attend) to Queen Victoria when she gave birth. He was determined _____3_____( destroy) cholera once and for all.
He was___ 4_____( interest) in two contradictory theories which explained how cholera spread. The first held that cholera was spread in the air. Another was ____5____cholera was caused by an infection from germs in food or water. John Snow subscribed _____6_____ the second theory ,but he needed proof.
So when another outbreak hit London in 1854,he began his investigation. By mapping ____7____( exact) where all those who died had lived, he found that multiple deaths ___8_____(link)o to the outbreak were near the .water pump, so he had the handle removed. Soon afterwards the disease was stopped in its tracks. He drew a conclusion that the water was to blame.
Through Snow's tireless efforts, the threat of cholera around the world saw a substantial decrease. He transformed the way ____9_____(scientist ) study diseases by using maps and statistics, for which he ____10_____ ( consider) the father of modern epidemiology.
To be diligent
Inspired as the “King of invention”, Thomas Edison was diligent (1.diligence)in thinking and doing experiments regardless of challenges and frustration(2.frustate). Initially(3.initial), the general use of the lighting tool was keroscene lamp or gas lamp. The smoke from them damaged human’s lungs severely(4.severe) and some were even infected (5.infection)with diseases. To handle (6.handle)the problem, Edison read a lot of books on electricity lighting and did numerous experiments before he found enough proofs(7.prove) to claim he made it. Despite all the hardship, Edison brought the transformation (8.tranform)from the gas lamp to the light bulb eventually.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
----Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was born in 1879 in Ulm, a city in Germany. As a boy, he was slow to learn to talk, but later in his childhood he showed great curiosity about nature and ability to solve difficult mathematical problems. After he left school, he went to Switzerland, where he graduated from the university with a degree in mathematics. In 1905, Einstein began to publish a series of papers and he won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921.Thanks to his theory of relativity, Albert Einstein became the most famous scientist of the 20th century, which laid the foundation for much of modern physics theory.(The theory included his famous equation E=mc ).
Many great scientists like Albert Einstein have the ability to see the world in ways that other people do not, and to come up with new ideas that other people have never thought of. In many cases, this has caused other people to think that they are crazy. However, this thinking ability is called “thinking outside of the box”, an ability with a vivid imagination and good creativity.
Be curious and never give up.
---Stephen Hawking
As one of the most famous and gifted scientists in physics, Stephen Hawking stood bravely to point out that the big bang theory was correct rather than the the steady state theory which was quite popular. Hawking’s own work in big bang theory was soon proven by astronomers with telescopes.
So, what made Stephen Hawking a genius Besides being brilliant, he was brave, though sometimes careless in what he said or did.He was willing to say what others were afraid to say,and dream of what others were afraid to dream about.Furthermore, he was quite determined. This had helped him as a scientist, and had helped him even more in his fight against his disease.Above all, Hawking was willing to admit his faults. This odd combination of characteristics had made him one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Science is simply ________ you can do. And doing science makes you a scientist! So, what do scientists do Actually, what matters is not only _______ they observe in the world around them and what questions they ask, but also _______ they use evidence or data to answer the questions. They identify useful data and take new measurements. Some of the key issues that

Pioneering to America to work and returning to China after overcoming some difficulties during his final few years in the US,Qian took charge of developing China’s aerospace programme through its birthing stages. Despite great challenges and obstacles, Qian persevered and developed the Dongfeng missiles, followed by the first generation of Long March rockets. Much of the technology behind the Shenzhou rockets can also be traced back to Qian’s research.
