The repeated part expresses the son's love, respect, and admiration for his father when the son was a child. Also it shows the father's regret for lacking company with his son.
II. And the cat's in the cradle, and the silver spoon. Little boy blue and the man on the moon.
silver spoon: A metaphor for ample wealth that has been passed down through inheritance. (Used primarily in the phrase "born with a silver spoon in (one's) mouth.")
cat's cradle: A children's game of the same name in which string is wound around and between one's fingers to create intricate patterns.
little boy blue: A reference to the nursery rhyme of the same name, with the line "come blow your horn" possibly alluding to a policeman's whistle.
the man in the moon: used, especially in comparisons, to refer to someone regarded as out of touch with real life.

Sample writing
The song I have chosen is “Heartbreak Hotel” by Elvis Presley. It was first released in 1956 and was written by Presley and some other songwriters. It is about a man who feels lonely after his partner has left him. It was based on a true story from a newspaper. I think it was written because songs about lost love are popular. The song sounds quite simple in its arrangements with guitar, bass, drums, a piano, and Elvis’ voice. Although the lyrics are sad, the music is quite uplifting. I think the song is good because it is about a real situation and it also makes me want to tap my feet.
