Jay began to teach me in my first year in high school. I don't really remember his first class, but after no more than two or three weeks, many of my classmates thought his American English was really easy to understand. As a language learning lover, I used to imitate (模仿) the American accent (口音). So to me, listening to Jay's class was not only just having an English class given by a foreigner, but also a very natural and happy way to keep imitating the American accent.
Jay's class was really special to us Chinese pared to most Chinese teachers who would just read the textbook to us, we felt he was a really interesting friend to us, so the interaction (互动) was very natural. At least I myself always felt I really learned something.
We, native Chinese students, often laughed about Jay's humor (幽默) and body language. In our free time we often talked about his class, “Oh, that's why Jay says something like that; wow, this is really interesting!”
Jay was also a very caring teacher outside the class. Even though we couldn't communicate with him easily, he would carefully listen to what we asked and try his best to help us. Sometimes just a few words from him would make us feel better, and we would see there's still hope in our life.
I haven't seen him for years, but I'll always miss him.

D.To tell about a teacher he once had.

I was in a strange city and I didn't know the city at all. What is more, I could not speak a word of the language here. After having spent my first day in the town center, I decided to lose my way on my second day, since I believed that this was the simplest way of getting to know the strange city.
I got on the first bus in the morning, rode on it for several stops, then got off it and walked on. Then I decided to turn back to my hotel for lunch. After walking for some time, I thought I had better ask the way. The trouble was that the only word I knew of the language was the name of the street in which I lived and even that I pronounced it badly.
I stopped to ask a newspaper seller. He smiled and handed me a newspaper. I shook my head and repeated the name of the street and he put the paper into my hands. The next person I asked was a policeman. There was a strange look in his eyes as he pointed left and right and left again. I thanked him politely and began walking towards the direction he pointed.
About an hour passed and I noticed that the houses were getting fewer and fewer and green fields were appearing on either side of me. I had come all the way into the countryside.

Traveling can be expensive. But there are some ways to save money when you are traveling. Try some of the advice below on your next vacation and your wallet will thank you.
Look for city tourism cards. With the card, you can pay less at restaurants and shops. You don't have to wait for a long time at busy attractions. You might even get free tickets to top tourist attractions. City tourism cards can save your money and time without question.
Don't get the best room. How long will you stay in your room Will you just be sleeping there Do you really need a bigger room with a good view (景色)
Find a hotel outside a city. It can help you save some money to choose a hotel away from big tourist attractions, for you are always doing the same — go to the attractions and then return to your hotel to sleep.
Book a room with a kitchen. Although some people might not like to cook while on vacation, I don't mind making breakfast in my room. We always eat at a nice restaurant on our last night of the vacation. I'd rather eat breakfast and lunch at the hotel and then spend much money on a delicious supper.

For years I went to school by bus, so I met many “familiar” strangers. We took the same bus but didn't know each other's names. I used to think it was impossible for us to be true friends. How wrong I was! Smiles from the “nameless” people have changed my thoughts.
The first time on the bus, I saw different faces. As days went on, we chatted like old friends.
But I felt it a pity that I was unable to set up the same friendship with a silent girl in the front of the bus. Her old clothing suggested that she didn't have much money, but she always took a cup of water for the driver. I guessed she was a kind girl. But why did she sit in silence instead of talking with us Why did she never reply to our friendly greetings Couldn't she smile
Then, one evening, I got the answer. I walked to the park nearby and found the girl sitting alone under a tree, lonely and sad. I greeted her with the same warm smile that had shown to her all these months, but this time her face turned red, then a shy smile appeared. As soon as she began her first words, I understood why she hadn't spoken to us before. Talking was hard for her.
I heard her story: her parents worked hard somewhere. She lived with her disabled grandparents. She said, “I can't express myself very well. Most of the time, I can't say what I want to say. I have no friends but...you always smile to me like an angel...so I also want to smile.” That evening, we exchanged our names and we said goodbye like old friends.
Smile is the key to open the door of heart; it can break the cold walls in front of us.

Second, help strangers. Helping someone who has difficulty climbing stairs is a good way to start. Remember that some day you may need help and a stranger may come to help you.
Third, write or say something. You can write thank-you notes to people who helped you, make cards for sick friends and say goodbye to people who are leaving.
Last, after you attend a party, help the host clean up. It may take you only a few minutes. But your help is quite important to a person who is tired.
