if和whether的区别
二者在下列几种情况下不能换用:
1. 宾语从句与or not直接连用时,应用whether,不能用if。如:
I don’t know whether or not he will come tomorrow.
我不知道他明天是否来。
2. if意为“假如,如果”时,可以引导条件状语从句,而whether没有这个用法。如:
If Simon comes here tomorrow, I’ll call you.
假如西蒙明天来这儿,我将打电话告诉你。

宾语从句的时态
1.主句是一般现在时,则宾语从句根据实际情况使用任何时态。
e.g. He says that he came to London last month.
他说他上个月来的伦敦。
2.若主句是过去时态,从句须用过去时态的某种形式。
e.g. He believed he would win the game.
他相信他会赢得这场比赛。
3.若宾语从句表示的是一个客观真理、谚语或者事实时,即使主句是过去时,从句也用一般现在时态。
e.g. Yesterday our teacher said no news is good news.
昨天老师说没有消息就是好消息。

What do people do on Qing Ming Festival

Because during the time of Qing Ming, the bright sunshine brings everything back to life, so it is the best time to go out and enjoy the beautiful scenes outside.

宾语从句的时态变化
主句是一般现在时,从句可以用任何时态.
主句是一般过去时,从句必须是过去时的一种

但当宾语从句叙述的内容
为客观真理时,仍然用一般现在时。
Common gifts are flowers and cards for mothers and shirts or ties for fathers. I heard that it is becoming more and more popular to celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day in China. I wonder if children over there also give similar gifts to their parents. I believe that there are many ways to show our love. Actually, we don’t have to spend a lot of money. It is also a good idea to help parents to do something instead.
