The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th of the first month of the lunar calendar. This day is always the first full moon in the new year. Ancient people also called it Shangyuan Festival. Celebrations and traditions on this day began from the Han Dynasty and became popular in the Tang Dynasty.
Watching the red lanterns is one of the main traditions. Lanterns of different shapes and sizes are usually put on trees, or along river banks on show. It is said that sky lanterns were first used by Zhuge Kongming to ask for help when he was in trouble. Today, when the lanterns slowly rise into the air, people make wishes.
Another tradition is guessing lantern riddles (谜语). The riddles are usually short, wise, and sometimes humorous. The answer to a riddle can be a Chinese character (汉字), a famous person's name, or a place name.
The most important thing is to eat sweet dumplings with different tastes. In northern China, they are called yuanxiao while in southern part they're named tangyuan. Because making sweet dumplings is like a game or an activity, they are usually done happily by a group of friends or family members.
In old times, the Lantern Festival was also romantic. Watching lanterns gave young people a chance to meet each other. But we can't ever finish eating the grapes on time! Usually when people still have some grapes in their mouths, they look at each other and start to laugh. This tradition started in Spain long ago. One year, when there were a lot of grapes, the king of Spain decided to give grapes to everybody to eat on New Year's Eve.

Then everybody sings a song about friendship and kisses their friends. We say “Happy New Year!” to each other. It's lucky if a tall man with dark hair is the first person to come to the house in the new year. So I go and visit as many friends as I can. They all give me a drink.

About half way there, he stopped at a roadside restaurant to get some breakfast. He ordered a hamburger and a cup of coffee. But as he was drinking his coffee, he carelessly dropped some down the front of his shirt. He went to the washroom to clean it off, but the stain (污渍) was still there. He didn't have time to stop at a shop to get a new shirt, so he just had to go to the meetings in the dirty one.
The meetings went well. After lunch, George drove up to Manchester for the next set of meetings. But after he drove for 30 minutes, the car suddenly stopped. He'd run out of petrol (汽油). Luckily, there was a petrol station about 100 meters away.

For most Americans, the pumpkin pie is a tasty and wonderful dish. They couldn't have Thanksgiving without it.
For me, however, the smell of pumpkin pie baking in the oven brings other special feelings. My father was in the army, so I moved often as a child. I had no hometown. Before I could go to school or make friends in one town, I'd be settling (定居) in another.
There were so few things around me to give a feeling of home. When I was young, I didn't know the difference — I thought moving was normal. It was only later when I learned that most people had a hometown they could return to and friends they had always known, but I didn't. The pumpkin pie was one thing that was always there, and that's why it is special to me.
Another reason I like it is that I was born on Halloween, October 31. Every time my birthday came, we made a giant pumpkin lantern. And my mom would always make a pumpkin pie. She put on her apron (围裙) and before long, the pumpkin pie was the centerpiece of the party.
Now, I can't help feeling good about life whenever I eat pumpkin pies. To me, pumpkin pie is home.
( )70.Why did the writer move often when he was young
A.Because he had no hometown.
B.Because his father was in the army.
C.Because he wanted to make more friends.
D.Because there were so few things around him.

C.Britain. D.America.
( )72.What does the underlined word “it” refer to

C.The pumpkin pie. D.The apron.

Need a reason to be happy Then you will be happy to know that 20th March is the International Day of Happiness.
The United Nations set up the International Day of Happiness in 2012 to remind (提醒) us that happiness is a basic human goal and right.
It was celebrated for the first time in 2013. On that day, we celebrated hundreds of “Happy Heroes” — those who did so much to bring happiness to others. They helped the homeless to live a comfortable life and the poor kids to go to school.
The 2014 Day of Happiness actions asked people to share pictures of making them happy. People all over the world showed their favourite pictures on the Internet. “It's exciting to see so many people sharing photos of what makes them happy,” Joe, a senior high school student from Canada said. The 2015 Day of Happiness actions gave attention to relationships. Modern society is leaving more and more people feeling lonely. On that day, thousands of people all around the world reached out to make new connections with others. They visited their neighbours, gave calls to the doctors they didn't know well, drove the strangers to station for free...

One Possible Version:
Huangshan is one of the natural wonders of the world. It lies in the south of Anhui Province and attracts millions of tourists every year.
Today my family visited Huangshan. Early in the morning, when we arrived there by car, it was raining. But as soon as we got out of the car, we couldn't wait to climb up the mountain. Luckily, about half an hour later, the clouds suddenly began to clear and the rain stopped. Along the path we enjoyed lots of beautiful sights, such as the sea of clouds, wondrous pines and unique rocks. When we arrived at the top of the mountain, the sun also rose beyond the rocks. We enjoyed the beautiful rising sun with thousands of tourists. We were all tired but very excited.
We hope to visit Huangshan again next year!
