When I was a child, my mother used to make breakfast food for dinner. One night, she had to make breakfast food 31 a day's work.
Soon my mother placed the food on the table — a plate of eggs and several pieces of burned toast (烤糊的面包). I said 32 . I just waited to see what my father would do. Kate Humble is a writer. Her new book Friend for Life is about the relationship between a man and a dog. Humble shares with us the books that changed her life.
Winnie the Pooh By A.A.Milne My father used to read this book to me when I was very young. He used different voices for all the animals. I loved the characters in the book: sad Eeyore, loyal (忠诚的) Pooh, lively Tigger. A.A.Milne was really good at describing the way they got along together, opening my eyes to how society really works.
Last Chance to See This book tells of the writers' experiences as they travel around to find animals in danger. Their travels are very exciting and they share a wonderful humor. The book makes me realize that we can't just sit back and allow animals to disappear. I read the book in my teens. At that time I hardly traveled. But the idea that we must help protect our planet was a really inspiring (激励人心的) one to me.
Picture Palace By Paul Theroux I've always loved Theroux's travel writing. I found this book in a second-hand bookshop. I read the first paragraph and thought,“How does he do that ” The words aren't long or difficult, but from that first paragraph, his writing grabs (吸引) one. I had an artist teacher who told me, “You're only an artist when you've found your own style (风格), not when you're copying someone else.” And Theroux is surely an artist.

Hello, boys and girls! May I have your attention, please Today we will ride to this beautiful place—Happy Park to celebrate our English Day! Before entering the park, there are some specific details we must know first.
To begin with, we need to be clear about the location of the facilities. After entering the park, you can see a big area of grassland in front of you. On the left side is a food store where you can buy some food. And on the right side stands a toilet. A beautiful swimming pool lies behind the grassland, where the water is clean enough for you to swim. What's more, you should keep the following rules in mind. First, you must park your bikes on each side of the gate. Second, you can neither pick flowers in the park, nor play football on the grassland. That's all. Thank you for your listening and have a good day.
