1)main是形容词词,意为“主要的; 最大的”,main的副词形式是mainly ,意为 “主要地; 大体地”.

2)interest 此处用作名词,意为“兴趣,爱好”. interest 也可以用作动词,意为“使……感兴趣”,其主语多为物。

(1)interesting形容词,意为“有趣的”。做表语时,主语通常是物;作定语时,既可以修饰人,也可以修饰物。
(2)interested 是由动词interest 加后缀-ed 构成的形容词,意思为“感兴趣的”其主语一般是人,常构成短语be /get /become interested in …,意思为“对 ……感兴趣”。

辨析 offer此处是用作动词,意思为“提议,;(主动)给予”。 offer的主要用法有:

Tom offered to drive us to the bus station.

3. No, it was almost impossible to understand actors and actresses. 不, 几乎不可能听懂这些男女演员的意思。 impossible 为形容词,意为“不可能的”。 Impossible 是由形容词possible (可能的)加否定前缀-im构成的,它的主语一般不能是人,只能是物或it.

4. 辨析almost 与nearly
Almost 意为“几乎”。一般放在主要动词的前面或助动词、系动词的后面, 一般不和not 连用,但可以与no , none , nothing , never等连用。Almost 相差的程度比 nearly 小。

There is almost nothing in the room .(∨)
这个房间几乎没有东西。

6. He’s especially famous for his play , Teahouse.

especially 是副词,意为“特别地,专门地,特别是,尤其是”修饰形容词, 放在形容词之前。
