人教版新教材B1U4 Workbook：The story of an eyewitness教学设计
主题语境：人与自然
文本分析：
文本指向“人与自然”的主题语境，涉及自然灾害，是一篇以一个目击者的视角撰写的地震报道的改编稿。文本运用了多种修辞手法，如重复、对比、拟人、倒装等，画面感地描绘地震的毁灭性和灾难性，描述灾难肆虐时所见所闻及所思所感。同时，作者也用细腻的手法描述了灾后人们的积极互救，展示人类的互帮互助和同舟共济，体现灾难无情，人间有情。

教学目标：
在本阅读课结束后，学生应能够：
1.自主阅读，获取关键信息和归纳概括话题词汇；
2.感悟写作手法及表意手段，挖掘语篇主题意义；
3.读后，能运用本堂课所学的写作手法报道事件。
教学重难点：
学生能够梳理关键信息和归纳概括话题词汇，学习模仿写作手法，挖掘语篇主题意义，并能迁移运用本堂所学的写作手法报道。
教学步骤：

Step 1 Prediction Encourage Ss to say something about the picture and then describe what they see. Guide Ss to predict what kind of story it is according to the title and pictures. Meanwhile, list the basic elements of a story (when, where, who, what, how, why). 本活动旨在激发学生的好奇心与学习兴趣，通过预测引入本堂课的话题，学习重点词汇disaster和witness。
Step 2 (skimming) Ask Ss to read the text briefly to conclude the main idea of this passage. 本活动旨在训练学生快速阅读全文和概括大意。
Step 3 Detailed reading Activity1: Read paragraph 1 and explore the key words and supporting sentences. Activity 2: Read paragraph 2-4 and discuss in groups to finish the working sheet. Q1: What kind of story is it Q2: What is its supporting sentence Q3: What is the language feature Q4:Despite the destructive disaster, something was not destroyed. Step 4 Reading for theme Activity 3: think critically about the disaster and the people. Interpret the sentence: The worst of disasters brought out the best in the survivors. Activity 4: What have we learnt 活动3 通过两个倒装句的对比，旨在启发学生对文本主题意义的思考； 活动4 借助表达从structure，content，language 三个角度出发总结课堂知识。
Step 5 Writing The situation: Suppose you were an eyewitness of something, please write a short story to describe it. 旨在所创设情境，依托建构创造类读后活动，迁移、运用主题内容及语言，建构新语篇。
