Lesson 2 Amazing English
教学目标
通过本课的学习,学生能够:
1.熟练朗读课文,并用自己的语言简单概括本课内容。(学习理解)
2.在语境中正确运用only、 than、 million、 level、 therein、 even、 phrase、 piece、 sentence、 quick、 fox、 lazy等词汇。(应用实践)
3.了解有关英语的特点,发现英语的神奇,享受学习英语的乐趣。(迁移创新)
语篇研读
What: 本课语篇主要通过列举一些特殊的单词、短语和句子介绍英语的神奇之处。
Why: 语篇通过讲述英语的神奇之处,让学生了解英语的特点,提高学生学习英语的兴趣。
How: 语篇采用“总—分—总”的形式写作。第一段总起讲述虽然英语只有26个字母,但是可以组成超过一百万个单词;第二至七段列举了令人惊奇的单词、短语和句子来展示英语的神奇;最后一段总结全文并发起倡议,让学生好好享受学习英语的乐趣。
教学过程
设计理念:以《义务教育英语课程标准(2022年版)》核心素养为导向,以单元主题为引领,基于语篇的育人理念,体现《义务教育英语课程标准(2022年版)》“学思用创”的英语学习活动观和“教—学—评”一体化设计理念。

Activity 1: Presentation 学习本课新词 Learn new words in the lesson by watching pictures. Try to grasp in class.(见PPT) 教师观察学生能否认读本课新词,对拼写暂时不做要求
设计意图 通过图片和设置的情景更好地帮助学生理解、掌握本课单词【学习理解】
Activity 2: Fast reading 快速阅读,完成思维导图 Play the recording of Part 2 for the students to listen and answer these questions: 1.How many words can 26 letters make 2.What does the phrase a piece of cake mean 3. Which sentence uses all 26 letters 教师观察学生能否通过快速阅读来理解文章的整体结构及主题,能否在规定的时间内准确地填写思维导图
设计意图 围绕 “英语的惊奇事实” 这一主题,使用扫读策略获取文章主旨大意,梳理文本结构,完成思维导图【学习理解】
Activity 3: Careful reading 细读课文,对文本内容深度解析,并回答问题 Read the passage carefully and answer the questions: 1.How many words can you find in the word therein What are they 2. Can you find a word that reads the same left to right or right to left What is it 3. Read these two sentences: I cannot dance. I have two left feet. What does have two left feet mean 教师观察学生能否准确地获取并理解文章的细节,能否在有限的时间内完成相关任务,同时要关注能否培养学生的语言应用能力
设计意图 细读每一段,获取与问题有关的信息,让学生了解与英语有关的惊奇的事实,由此激发学生学习英语的兴趣【学习理解】
Activity 4: Group work 集思广益,寻找更多有趣的英语事实 Find more interesting facts about English and share them with your group members. Choose one group to present in front of the class. 教师观察学生是否知道更多的英语事实,能否准确地进行语言输出,教师及时给出指导并给出更多示例了解英语事实
设计意图 通过讨论了解更多的英语事实,同时锻炼学生整句输出的能力【应用实践】
Activity 5: Exercise 通过练习,了解更多短语的含义 Finish Activity 4 on page 19. Check the answers in class. 教师观察学生能否准确地理解短语含义,能否在有限的时间内完成相关任务
设计意图 通过选择练习检查学生对英语短语的理解及对本课话题的掌握情况,增加知识储备,同时提升学生解决实际问题的能力【应用实践】
