Dear Mike.
I'm glad to know that you'd like to learn something about Chinese festivals. Now let
me tell you about my favorite one -the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, this
festival holds great importance as a time for families to get together, taste delicious
mooncakes, and admire the beauty of the moon. There are lots of folk stories about the
Mid-Autumn Festival.Among them, the most famous one is the tale of Chang'e and Hou
Yi.The delicious mooncakes, shaped like the full moon, symbolize heartfelt wishes that
people send to their beloved families.
All in all,the Mid-Autumn Festival holds a special place in my heart as it provides a
chance for me to take part in different kinds of activities with my family.
As for your travel plans,I highly recommend visiting Beijing. It's a great city with old
stories and new things. You can see the big Forbidden City, walk in Hutong streets, and
climb the Great Wall.
Hope you will enjoy your visit!
Yours.
