Step 1 Warm up 1.Watch a video T:What can we learn from the video S1:Help others to happy themselves . S2:As long as everyone gives a little love , the world will be better. Review Talk about what kind of volunteer work you could do We could ______________________________________. Step 2 Lead in Present some pictures to learn some new phrases. Step 3 Presentation Work in 1a Let Ss match the sentences with similar meanings. Work in 1b 1)Ask students to match the phrasal verbs with the nouns and then make sentences with the phrases. Write the sentences on their textbooks. 2)Encourage Ss to share their sentences with the whole class. Correct their mistakes especially the misuse of the past tense. Encourage students’ creative answers. 3. Listening(1c&1d) 1)Guide Ss to make a prediction before listening by looking at the pictures in 1c on page 13 and ask what the boy is doing in the four pictures. Encourage Ss to describe the four pictures in their own words. 2)Ask Ss to find out the order of the pictures based on what they hear. Tell them to pay more attention to listening instead of writing. Ss can complete this type of task even when they do not understand every word they hear. 3)Guide Ss to listen and judge. Circle T for true and F for false. Listen again and answer the questions. 4)Play the recording and get Ss to imitate the pronunciation and intonation. 4. Oral practice(1e) 1)Help Ss role-play the conversation between Jimmy and the reporter in pairs. Students are encouraged to use the information in 1c to help them. 2)Get several pairs to role-play the conversation in front of the class.

由生活中经常出现的意外为话题引出本节课所要学的内容, 贴近生活, 引起学生的学习兴趣。让学生在自我表述中, 掌握重点短语和句子。听力练习与实际的读中还是有差距的, 应多培养学生英式读法。
