Ss are able to offer help and give advice by using modal verb “could”, “would like to”, etc. 3. Ss can master the meaning of phrasal verbs in this section.
Cultural Consciousness 1. Ss can make a plan about volunteering and know their ability. 2. To arouse Ss’ awareness to contribute their power and know the meaning of helping others. No matter how little the power is, everyone can make a difference! 3. To enhance their cooperative and communicative ability through group work.
Thinking Quality Ss will be able to offer help and cultivate the awareness of volunteering and charity.
Learning Ability 1. Ss can comprehend the conversation about volunteering and grasp the key words. 2. Ss can use what they learned to express what, how and why they volunteer to do. 3. Ss can imitate the intonation and tone in the conversation and use correct and fluent English while communicating.
重点 Ss are able to use modal verb “could” to express advice. use the expression of offering help correctly and phrasal verbs in related forms.

Step1 Warming up and Lead in Words review Listen to a song T:What can change our lives and our world S:Volunteering can change our lives. Love can change our world. General idea of Volunteer T:Have you ever been a volunteer Volunteer: A person who uses his/her spare time to participate in social services without any reward Show pictures Show Ss some pictures about themselves to introduce the phrases such as “put up a notice”; “clean up the street”...... T:What can we do to help people S:We could____________________. Viewing View the picture in 1a and write down other ways you could help people. Outside school: *help the traffic police *work in an old people’s home *clean up street *clean the chairs in the park At school: *help clean the blackboard *help the teacher to collect and give out exercise books *help classmates to learn their lessons Step2 Listening1 1. Pre-listening Look at the picture in 1a and talk about what are they talking about. 2. While listening Listen and number the ways the boy and the girl could help others. Listen and match and then make a sentence 3. Post-listening Underline the sentences(what did they do) and read together. Make a conversation with Ss and use the sentence structures: I hope…; I want to…; I’d like to…; I need to…; I decided to…; Let’s do…. Step3 Listening2 1.
