Cultural Consciousness Encourage students to develop the cooperative spirit and the optimistic attitude through pair work and role playing. Encourage Ss to care about more about themselves and care for others through discussing problems and giving advice.
Thinking Quality Under the teacher’s guide, encourage students to talk about problems and learn how to give advice to solve these problems.
Learning Ability Through this period, most students will be able to improve their listening and speaking and speaking abilities and master the usage of”Could you please...”.
重点 Master new words and expressions. Be able to talk about problems and trouble by using the target language. Help Ss find out the correct ways to lower their pressure.
难点 To let Ss be able to improve their listening skills. To make Ss learn to give appropriate advice to the certain problems.

Step1 Warming up and lead in Play a game:Angry bird To learn some new words and phrases. T:Why is the bird angry Maybe problems... Free talk T:Do you have any problems in your daily life Ask the students to tell each other their problems. And write them on the blackboard. e.g. don’t sleep well Have too much homework … T: Do you think whether your problems are serious or not Ss : … . Step 2 Listening 1.Work on 1b&2a 1)T: Tell Ss to read the sentences in 1a again. Make sure they know the meaning of the sentences. What problems are they talking about 2)Play the recording for the Ss to listen and circle the problems you hear in 1a. 3)Listen and fill in the blanks. listen and fill in the blanks with could or should in 2a. Did Peter follow these advice Why or why not 5)Listen again. Match the advice(1,2,3...) and the reasons(a,b,c...). 3)Play the recording again. Check the answers with the Ss.
Step3 Pair work Role-play a conversation between Peter and his friends. Let one pair to read out their conversation first. e.g. A: What’s the matter, Peter B: I had a fight with my best friend. What should I do A: Well, you should call him so that you can say you’re sorry. B: But I don’t want to talk about it on the phone. Then Ss act the conversation in pairs. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. Step4 Role- play T: We have known about Peter’s problems . Now Kim has some problems too , Dave is giving his advice . Please read the conversation in 2a by yourselves and answer the following question. Q1:What’s wrong with Kim Q2:What advice does Dave give to Kim Listen and find the difficulties for you.
