Learning Ability Through this period, most students will be able to use the structures and sentence patterns skillfully to communicate with others, learn to predicy listening skills such as capturing and recording key information and use time adverbial clauses guided by when and while to tell your own story after listening.
重点 Master new words and expressions. Master adverbial clauses: Was/Were+doing. Be able to talk about past events using the target language.
难点 Be able to talk about past events using the target language. Improve students’ listening skills.

Step1 warm up Share your stories Were you late for an important activity or an event? What was the event Why were you late or absent Step2 Pre-listening Observe the pictures and predict How does she feel? Who missed the event Skill1:Before listening, you can guess the main idea from pictures and questions. Step3 While listening 1.Work on 1b Listen and write short answers to the questions. 1. What event happened at the school yesterday 2. Who missed the event 3. Which team won at the event 2.Work on1c Listen again. Number the events 1-6 in the order they happened. ____ Kate saw a dog by the side of the road. ____ Kate got to the bus stop. ____ Kate called the Animal Helpline. ____ Kate left the house. ____ Kate waited for someone to walk by. ____ Kate realized her bag was still at home.
