Some students can able to write a short article to describe your favorite singers and writers on the topic in different tenses independently.
Cultural Consciousness To learn good qualities from the singer or writer described, such as persistent spirit, optimistic and positive attitude towards life.
Thinking Quality Under the teacher’s guide, students can internalize the language knowledge related to” literature and music” in mutil-level, mutil-angle, mutil-thinking quality through writing.
Learning Ability Through writing training, students can develop their writing ability and know the writing mode by preview the structure of reading , so as to realize the purpose of writing a good essay.

教学过程 集体教研
Step 1. Review and lead-in. Provide a short passage to lead Ss to review “Sarah’s favorite singer”. Let students read the short passage and try to fill in the blanks. Step 2. Pre-writing. Watching. Watch the video, recognize the woman and try to learn something from her speech. T: Do you know who my favorite singer is Look! Here she is! After watching, provide a short passage to let Ss fill in the blanks. Pair work. Work in pairs to talk about their own favorite singer or writer. The questions in 3a can be used as a guide. T: We all know that country music changed Sarah’s life forever and her favorite singer is Garth Brooks. My favorite singer is Taylor Swift. What about yours List the questions on the screen. Make sure that Ss can understand all of them. Walk around the classroom to offer help if necessary. Reading. Explain the writing task to Ss and guide them to analyze the structure based on the sample writing. Provide another passage about Jay Chou to let Ss fill in the blanks. Step 3. While-writing. T: Now it’s time for you to write your favorite writer. Show the instruction on the screen. Then guide Ss to draw an outline first. After drawing the outline, write a passage about their favorite writer based on it. 10 minutes will be given. Step 4. Post-writing. After Ss finish writing, let them have a self-check for 3 minutes. Pick out one or two examples to evaluate in class. Step 5. Self check. Finish the self check part. Report their answers and talk about their reasons
