Step 1. Revision. Present some sentences in Chinese with the present perfect tense and ask Ss to translate them into English orally. Let students do some translation practice. Step 2. Presentation. 1. Present Perfect Tense. Guide Ss to observe the sentences and try to sum up the usages of the present perfect tense. 2. The past participle of regular and irregular verbs. Show some verbs on the screen and let Ss conclude the different rules of the change. Step 3. Practice. Work on 4a. Guide Ss to understand the instructions and think of some ways to deal with it. T: Are there any strategies T: Maybe you can read the context and use the clue words “ time of adverbials". Check the answers. Correct if necessary. Work on 4b. Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in brackets. After two minutes, check the answers by reading the passage aloud and explain their reasons. Work on 4c. Lead Ss to pay attention to the key words in the chart, such as books, movies and songs. Remind them of different questions: What books have you already read What movies have you seen What songs have you heard What's it like What do you think of the book / movie / song What is it about Who is in the movie Who sings the song Complete the chart with information about they and their friends.
