Cultural Consciousness To learn the knowledge of all kinds of museums in China and promote cultural confidence and set up the consciousness of nature, history and humanities.
Thinking Quality Under the teacher’s guide, encourage students to accurately obtain and express information about interesting places and improve the logic, critical and creative thinking.
Learning Ability Through speaking and listening training, students can develop good learning habits and use strategies such as listening, memorizing and recording key information to improve learning efficiency. Also, keep interested in English.
重点 1. Grasp the new words, phrases and sentences. 2. Learn to use the sentence pattern“Have/Has been to…” and improve listening and speaking abilities.
难点 Use the present perfect tense to talk about whether someone has been somewhere or not. Improve listening and speaking skills through listening and speaking training.

Step 1. Warming up. Watch a video about museums in China. T: China is famous for its long history. One of the obvious symbols is the museum. Let’s enjoy some museums in our country. Step 2. Pre-listeningⅠ. Show some pictures of museums and parks. Based on the pictures of different kinds of museums and some interesting places, learn the new words and target language, and get to know more about the places. T: Have you been to a space museum Sa: Yes, I have. T: Have you been to an amusement park Sb: No, I haven’t. Look at the picture in 1a, guess what they are talking about. Share their answers in class. T: What museums can you see in the picture T: Which of these places would you like to visit Rank them from 1 (most) to 6 (least). Sa: I’d like to visit a history museum (because I like history). Step 3. While-listeningⅠ. Listen to the conversation and check the information in the chart. Then report their answers to have a check. Sb: Claudia has been to... Sc: Sarah has been to... 2. Let Ss listen again and answer the questions. Q1. When did Sarah go to the National Science Museum Q2. Has Sarah been to a history museum Q3. What does Claudia say about history Step 4. Post-listeningⅠ. Lead Ss to read the sample conversation and ask them to make their own conversation. Walk around the classroom and provide help if necessary. Step 5. ListeningⅡ. Try to talk about the locations of the places on the map. T: Is there any museum in our city Where is it Look at the map of the town and describe locations. Sa: The amusement park is on Green Street, behind the zoo… Look at the map of the town. Listen and circle the places they hear. Listen again and circle T for true or F for false. Step 6. Post-listeningⅡ. Ask Ss to make conversations about the places in 2a. Guide them to read the example in 2c first. Provide some sentence structures to help Ss. I’d really like to go there again. What bus do we take to get to ... There were so many ... things to do there. Neither have I. Let's go ... instead. There’s a great new place for… Step 7. Role-play. Read the conversation in 2d and answer the questions. Work in pairs and play the roles. Step 9. Summary. Explain the language points. Have a summary of the new words, grammar and sentences.
