Step 1. Lead in. Show some pictures of places of interest in China. Have a free talk with T about the places they’ve been to. T: Where have you been Sa: I have been to Sichuan . T: I have been to Shanghai. Have you ever been there Sb: No, I haven’t. But I have been to... Ss: Yes, I have. / No, I haven’t. T: Have you been to these places of interest Step 2. Pre-listening. Watch the videos and learn about some information about the places. With the help of some videos, introduce the places of interest to Ss. Ask Ss to finish 1a : match the pictures with the names. Then check the answers. Step 3. While-listening. Listening for questions. Listen to a conversation for the first time and check the questions they hear. Invite a S to report his or her answers. Listening for judgement. Listen for the second time and circle T or F. Provide some statements to let Ss to judge. When checking answers, encourage them to talk about the reasons. Listening for taking notes. Listen for the third time and finish the information card. Report their answers. Fill in the blanks according to the information they’ve heard. Step 4. Post-listening. Culture Focus. Read the material about “Chinese Food in Western Countries” to get to enrich their background knowledge. Finishing the chart. Provide a chart about “Peter's Travel in China” let guide Ss to finish it and retell the trip based on it. Sa: Peter has been in China for two weeks. He has visited the Palace Museum.
