学情分析
教学目标 Language Competence Master new words and expressions: introduce, favorite, special, friendly, something more, write a letter, ride a bike, see a movie, so far, move to. Important sentence patterns: ①How long have you had it ②It has given me many memories. ③How long have you been in China now ④Have you been to the US before 2. To talk about your favorite thing from childhood which you still have and hometown’s changes.
Cultural Consciousness To let students express their hometown feelings and arouse the students’ love to their hometowns.
Thinking Quality Under the teacher’s guide, encourage students to accurately obtain and express information about hometown’s changes and favorite ola things and improve the logic, critical and creative thinking.
Learning Ability Through writing training, students can develop good learning habits and use strategies such as mind map and recording key information to improve learning efficiency. Also, keep interested in English.
重点 1. Grasp the new words, phrases and sentences. 2. Practice more sentences by using the present perfect tense with since and for. 3. Teach students to make an outline before writing. 4. Teach students to write a short article about their favorite thing and introduce their hometown’s changes by using the sentences, grammar and writing methods that they have learned in this class.
难点 Students can use the present perfect tense to make appropriate statements and write down several sentences to introduce the developments in hometown and favorite ola things from childhood.

Step 1. Review and lead-in. Play a video of the song --- Childhood. Let students enjoy the song and have a free talk with Ss. T: Have you ever heard of this song T: What does the song remind you of Step 2. Pre-writingⅠ. Talking. T: What old things do you have T: Which is your favorite thing from childhood Introduce the T’s favorite thing from childhood as an example. Group work. Divide the class into 4 groups and ask each group to discuss one of the questions in 3a. 1.How long have you had it

4. Can you say anything more about it 3 minutes later, let them read their ideas out and share their ideas. While listening to others’ ideas, take notes. Step 3. While-writingⅠ. Checking. Read the instruction in 3b. Analyze the writing instruction with the help of T. Analyze the tense, the person, text type of the passage and the information points they will write. Making an outline. Provide some sentence structures to lead Ss to talk about their favorite things. After drawing the outline, write a passage based on it. 10 minutes will be given. While Ss are writing, walk around the classroom to offer help if they need. Step 4. Post-writingⅠ. After Ss finish writing, let them have a self-check for 3 minutes. Then share their passage with partners and evaluate each other according to the evaluation sheet. Appreciate the sample writing and sum up what a good article needs. Step 5. WritingⅡ. 1.Checking. Show the instruction on the screen. Let students read the instruction of the second composition. With the help of T, analyze the tense, the person, text type of the passage and the information points they will write. 2.Talking. Present some pictures to guide Ss to say something happened in our hometown. T: There were great changes in our hometown. What happened 3.Writing. According to the structure, write about the hometown. 4.Appreciating. After practicing, read the sample writing and have a self-check. Step 5. Self check. Finish the self check part. Report their answers and talk about their reasons.
