教材内容分析 本课是一节语法课,语法项目为含有wh-疑问词的宾语从句,此结构强烈表现出语言的功能特征——礼貌地索取信息时的语言结构。从相关的训练活动上看,4a主旨在于训练学生宾语从句的造句能力,关注语言结构;4b给出不同的具体情境,让学生运用宾语从句礼貌地询问信息;4c则更加突出本单元语法内容的交际性运用,使学生通过语言交流活动运用、内化相关语言知识。
重点 特殊疑问词引导的宾语从句和英语中礼貌语言的句子结构;
难点 增强学生礼貌得体使用语言的意识;准确运用含有wh-疑问词的宾语从句,注意时态、语序问题。
学情分析 在前一单元的基础上,学生对于that,if/whether引导的宾语从句的基本构成及用法有了初步的感知,这对于他们在本单元学习含有wh-疑问词的宾语从句奠定了坚实的基础。但在开展本课的语法教学时,要想办法让学生意识到礼貌语言结构特征,引导学生有意识地对固定句型进行整体识记和运用,并通过自主探究、合作学习等方式帮助其突破含有wh-疑问词宾语从句的易错点。

Step 1. Lead-in. Listen to an English song and try to understand the lyrics T lists. Step 2. Grammar Focus. Read the sentences in the box together and have a discussion in groups. Report their answers in class to have a check. Do some more exercises to sum up different introductory words. Observe the sentences and try to sum up the word order. Then make judgments and turn the complex sentence into the simple sentence. E.g. I haven’t decided where I will go. = I haven’t decided where to go. Observe the sentences and learn to speak more politely. Step 3. Practice. Work on 4a. Rewrite the questions to make them more polite. Ss: They are impolite. Ss: Friends. If they don’t know the answers, they may discuss them in pairs or ask the T for help. Sa: Could you tell me where I can buy some grapes or other fruit Sb: Excuse me, could you please tell me how this CD player works Work on 4b. Work in groups of four and try to write down polite questions as many as they can based on the given situations. After two minutes, check the answers by reporting the sentences of their group work. Work on 4c. Write four questions that a tourist might ask about their city. Then role-play conversations in groups. Sa: Excuse me, could you please tell me where the nearest bank is Sb: Sure. You go east along this street. ... Step 4. Conclusion. Play an English song “As long as you love me”. Guide Ss to read and observe the sentences and find out object clauses and the introductory words. Guide Ss to conclude the meanings of the introductory words. Ask them to do more exercises. Then invite some Ss to check answers and share their reasons. Show two sentences on the screen. T: Which sentence is more polite Guide Ss to read the questions. Make sure they have right pronunciation and intonation. T: Are these questions polite or impolite T: Do you think these questions are more likely asked between friends or between strangers Walk around the classroom to give help if necessary. Then check the answers in class. Ask some Ss to report their answers. Ask Ss to read the sentences in different intonation. Ask Ss to read the instructions in 4b and make sure they can understand the meaning and situations. Then invite some students to check the answers. Ask Ss to work in groups, think about some questions about the city and invite some groups to act out their conversations. 借助含有wh-疑问词引导的宾语从句的英文歌曲导入新课,调动课堂气氛,激发学习兴趣,帮助学生初步感知宾语从句的用法。 基于Grammar Focus所列句子,让学生通过自主观察、小组讨论、巩固练习等小结宾语从句的语法规律和现象,再针对宾语从句的三要素——引导词、语序和时态,设计具体语境、示例和练习,引导学生观察、感知和尝试。 语法的呈现,边尝试边讲解,附带句子的对比及翻译,有助于学生理解消化这一要点。 在学生对含有-wh疑问词的宾语从句的有了一些理解之后,让他们独立完成4a,4b。在核对答案和点评的环节,继续通过提问巩固学生对语法知识的理解,通过对比朗读体会直接提问和礼貌提问的不同语气。 4a是为了训练学生宾语从句的造句能力,关注语言结构; 4b的练习目的是让学生运用宾语从句礼貌地询问信息,巩固所学功能句式,并做到熟能生巧,在具体语境中灵活运用、触类旁通。 4c突出本单元语法内容的交际性运用,使学生通过语言交流活动运用、内化相关语言知识,可以鼓励学生进行创造性表达。
