课标分析 新课标要求九年级学生能听懂发音清晰、语速较慢的简短口头表达,获取关键信息;积累常用的词语搭配;在听、读、看的过程中,围绕语篇内容记录重点信息,整体理解和简要概括主要内容;能围绕相关主题,运用所学语言,与他人进行日常交流,语音、语调、用词基本正确,表达比较连贯;能欣赏、鉴别美好事物,形成健康的审美情趣;能多角度、辩证地看待事物和分析问题;有积极主动的学习态度和较强的自信心;能主动参与课内外各种英语实践活动,注意倾听,积极使用英语进行交流。

教材内容分析 本课是一节听说课,1a-1d部分主要为了巩固学习that等引导的定语从句,拓展前面的听力输入和口语输出内容。活动1a通过谈论喜欢的乐队、书籍和电影等,帮助学生巩固定语从句,为后续环节做铺垫;1b-1c的听力内容主要是围绕迈克的个人爱好展开,目的在于进一步巩固本单元有关事物描述的句型。1d是1b和1c的延续,让学生将听到的信息用对话的形式进行再现。
重点 理解并运用定语从句谈论自己对于人和事物的喜好;
难点 充分运用目标语言展开话题讨论。
学情分析 用定语从句谈论喜好,学生在前面课时的学习中逐渐熟悉,只是有些学生缺乏丰富的想象力,因此在谈论1a时,教师需要充分地引导学生,使其能够积极主动思考并踊跃发言。在听力方面,九年级学生已经出现了两极分化,这就需要教师用心设计听力活动和任务,一步一步引导学生,逐步消除学生的听力障碍,使其能最大限度地参与到听说活动中来。

Step 1. Lead-in. Have a free talk with T about their favorite bands, movies and books. Try to use the phrases. Sa: I love bands that play their own songs. Sb: I like movies that can make me laugh and think a lot. Sc: I prefer books that are full of interesting things. Look at the pictures and try to make more sentences. Sd: I prefer...that/which/who... Step 2. Pre-listening. Fill in the chart. Write names of their favorite books, movies and bands. Then some Ss share their preferences. Observe the picture in 1b carefully and list the things in it, like a lamp, books, a jacket, a movie poster, etc. Sa: Maybe he likes clothes that/ which... Sb: Maybe he prefers movies that/ which... Step 3. While-listening. Work on 1b. Listen and write the three things that Michael likes in the first column of the chart. Report their answers. Sa: Michael likes the jacket, the book and the movie poster. Work on 1c. Listen again. Write why Michael likes each thing in the second column of the chart in 1b. Sa: He likes writers who explain things well. Sb: He likes movies that are scary. Finishing the conversation. Listen again and complete the sentences. Check the answers by reading the conversation with partners. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation. Step 4. Post-listening. Work in groups and have a discussion about what they like and why they like the things. Sa: I like movies that are sad. I love Titanic. Sb: Oh, I don’t. I like movies that are scary. I really like... Step 5. Conclusion. Have a summary of what we have learned with the help of T. Function: To give students listening and speaking practice. Sentences: He likes clothes that are unusual. I like movies that are scary. Show some pictures of bands, movies and books. Introduce some phrases describing bands, movies and books. T: What's your favorite band T: What kind of movies do you like T: What kind of books do you like Show more pictures and encourage Ss to talk about their favorite things. Guide Ss to write the names of the movies, books and bands they prefer. Offer help if Ss don’t know the English names. Guide Ss to observe the picture in 1b. T: Can you describe the picture What’s in it Let Ss look at the picture and try to predict what the boy likes. Lead Ss to look through the instruction and chart. Make sure they can understand the meaning. Play the recording. For the first time, let Ss write down the things that Michael likes. Play the recording twice. Let Ss write down the reasons why Michael likes the things. Then encourage Ss to make sentences to check the answers. Play the recording for another time and let Ss fill in the blanks. While checking answers, encourage them to read the conversation in pairs aloud and fluently. Ask Ss to work in groups and share their favorite things and talk about the reasons. Provide the chart for one student in each group to record and report. Some examples can also be provided. Invite several Ss to make reports. 通过图片呈现和自由交谈,直入本课有关乐队、电影、书籍等方面的个人喜好话题,很快引起学生的共鸣和兴趣,而且在谈论过程中复习了that等引导的定语从句。 引导学生预测将要听到的谈话内容,也可以激发学生的学习兴趣,引导学生观察并谈论自己的看法,培养学生的预测能力,形成信息期待,为听力做好铺垫。 通过层层递进的听力活动,进行知识的理解巩固和听力策略的渗透。听力第一遍要求学生初听掌握大意,获取有关喜欢物品的名称信息并做笔记。 第二、三遍要求学生进一步获取并记录有关喜爱原因的细节信息,利用表格进行信息梳理,形成准确的表达,帮助学生巩固有关宾语从句的语言基础知识。 第四遍要求学生补全对话,进而对对话其他内容有更深入的理解,并充分利用语言材料进行说的练习,渗透语音语调教学。 通过小组合作交流,引导学生将所获取的信息进行有效利用,巩固目标语言,提高口语表达能力和合作能力,促进逻辑性思维的发展。 总结提炼,情感渗透,帮助学生懂得欣赏身边的美,促进其审美情趣的发展。
