教材内容分析 本课是一节语法课,是对本单元重点语言结构的总结、训练和巩固。Grammar Focus表格中呈现的是使役动词make的三个主要语言机构:一是后面结省略to的动词不定式,二是后面接形容词,三是后面接由动词过去分词转变成的形容词。4a-4b是对“语法聚焦”内容在不同层面上的操练,其内容是围绕情感的表达方式以及make+sb.+do sth.和make+sb.+adj.结构展开。活动4a侧重词汇方面的练习,要求学生选择和使用相关词汇完成语篇填空;活动4b是目标语言结构在实际生活中的运用,它提供了一个更开放的语境,要求学生先完成调查,结合自己的实际情况表达不同事物使自己产生的情感。

Step 1. Lead-in. Enjoy the video and have a free talk about Quan Hongchan. Step 2. Presentation. Combine the sentences into a sentence. Work in groups and have a discussion about the usages of “make”. Do some exercises. Choose the right verbs and use the right form to complete the sentences. Sa: make Alice mad Sb: make Alice unhappy Sc: make our friendship stronger Observe the example sentences and try to find out the the phrases with “make” and analyze the usages. Do more exercises. Step 3. Practice. Work on Self check. Put the words in the appropriate place in the chart. Write sentences by using the given words. Some Ss write on Bb. Sa: Speaking in front of many people makes me nervous. Sb: Money and fame don’t always make you happy. Work on 4a. Read the diary quickly for the first time to get the main idea. Read for another time and think of appropriate words for the blanks. Then compare their choices with their partners'. Sa: Cloudy days make me unhappy/ sad/ ... Work on 4b. Make sure they can understand the instruction. Read some examples first. And then work in groups and complete the survey. Sa: What makes you want to cry Sb: When I get bad grades, it makes me want to cry. Sc: In our group, ... makes ... want to cry. ... Step 4. Conclusion. Play a video about Quan Hongchan. T: The love and pride for the country made the athletes achieve such a great success. T: Of all the athletes, Quan Hongchan made me impressed most. Ask Ss to work in groups and try to analyze the sentence structure. Then invite some Ss to talk about their ideas and add some explanation of “S + V + O + CO”. T: What kinds of words can be the complement Let Ss read the conversation in 2d and find out the phrases with “make”. Do some translation practice. Provide some exercises to help Ss consolidate the structure. Guide Ss to sum up the four structures of “make”. Go over the instruction and the example. Make sure Ss can understand the meaning. Let Ss classify the adjectives into positive and negative. And then ask them to make sentences. Invite some Ss to read their sentences aloud to have a check. Guide Ss to read and understand the short passage. Ask them to complete the passage then. After peer-check, invite some Ss to read the passage and analyze the reasons. Explain the language points, such as “to start with”, “cloudy and grey”, etc. T: Life is full of happiness and unhappiness. Divide Ss into groups of three and let ask and answer about different feeling things bring them. Provide some examples to help Ss. Four minutes later, invite some Ss to give a report about their survey.
