When Michael Jordan's feet left the ground, time seemed to stand still. The player who became known as "Air Jordan" changed basketball with his graceful moves and jumps. Jordan's skills were impressive, but the mental strength that he showed made him unique. In the final seconds of a game, Jordan always seemed to find a way to win. (一)自然情况 本单元以运动和健康为主题,从不同方面说明运动除了竞赛的目的,更多的还是为了身心的健康。年轻人参加运动不仅能够强身健体,还可以磨练意志和耐力,学会与人合作,学会承受压力和失败,学会挑战自己的极限。本单元选择了年轻人晨跑作为主题图,体现了一种积极向上以及“生命在于运动”的积极意义。 (二)已有基础 学生在初中八年级第1单元学习了Playing Sports,以及第2单元学习Keeping Healthy,对运动和健康有了 本的概念和了解,并知道其中的关系。现阶段,他们是活跃的、积极的,并对体育表现出极大的兴趣。 (三)存在问题

第一课时 Listening&speaking 听说课 在本课时学习结束后,学生能够: 1.听懂一个有关邀请对方体育项目的对话、回答相关问题等听后任务; 2.掌握获取大意的听力技巧并根据重音和反义疑问句的语调感知说话人的意图和态度; 3.基于听的任务基础上,完成说的输出性任务,以对话的形式邀请对方参加体育活动。 通过听前预测,通过案例分析、小组讨论等方式,引导学生用得体的语言做自我介绍。通过听细节信息、结合上下文猜测词义、分析听力文本等方式培养学生逻辑思维和批判思维。
第二课时 Reading&thinking 阅读课 在本课时学习结束后,学生能够: 1.读懂两段关于郎平和乔丹的记叙性说明文,基本了解他们的传奇人生; 2.根据图片和标题预测语篇的内容: 3,认识到成功的运动员应具备的品质并感悟中外对体育精神的共同诉求。 通过略读和精读回答问题,评价学生能否理解文章的大意和细节信息;让学生评判能否称之为体坛人物,让学生体会真正杰出的运动员作为模范和榜样的力量。
第三课时 Discovering useful structures 语法课 在本课时学习结束后,学生能够: 1.在对话中找出并理解反义疑问句的功能; 2.在创设的情境中恰当地使用反义疑问句; 3.在语境中分析比较汉语和英语里的反义疑问句,体会不同文化背景下其表达形式和意义的异同。 通过编制对话、用正确的短语填空等,评价学生能否掌握反义疑问句的功能
第四课时 Listening and talking 听说强化课 在本课时学习结束后,学生能够: 在创设的情境中恰当使用同意及不同意的相关功能结构去表达意见; 2.在听的过程中获取特定信息及表达同意和不同意的功能结构,并使听时记笔记的技能得到发展: 3.对体育精神有自己的见解并可以发表自己的观点与看法。 通过完成听说任务,评价学生是否能掌握获取关键信息方法;通过对话评价学生是否能够对体育精神有自己的见解并可以发表自己的观点与看法。
第五课时 Reading for writing 读写结合课 在本课时学习结束后,学生能够: 通过阅读分析文本的结构并比较作者过去与现在对于健康的看法: 2.找出文中关于“相似”和“不同”的语言结构,并将其应用于写作。 3.为健康手册写一篇文章,体现对于健康看法的积极转变。 4.体会到健康的真正含义,并以积极的态度去生活和学习。 通过回答问题,评价学生是否更好地掌握篇章的细节信息;通过小组分享,评价学生是否能够就已知话题提供信息,表达观点以及参与讨论;通过小组讨论和分享,检测学生对于健康看法的积极转变理解情况。
单元评价设计
本单元主题是人与社会,涉及的话题是体育活动、大型体育赛事、体育与健康和体育精神,并通过三个语篇呈现主要内容:弘扬运动员不畏艰难、永不言弃的体育精神;强调规则的重要性;阐释运动的目的与运动和健康的关系。本单元的语篇类型有记叙文、说明文和应用文。 整个单元通过多种文本形式与“听”“说”“读”“写”“看”等活动相结合。每个版块都以一种语言技能活动为主,兼顾对其他技能的培养,关注语言的理解性技能和表达性技能的协调发展。介绍了日常常见体育运动与锻炼方式及其规则,引导高中生树立坚持不懈,积极拼搏的竞技精神和养成坚持锻炼的健康生活方式,在学习的同时也要劳逸结合,积极合理参加体育活动,保持身心健康,以良好的心态和健康的体魄为高中生活打下基础。总之,本单元围绕“运动先行,健康生活”的理念展开。通过本单元的学习,学生能够对关于体育人物、不同的体育运动展现出浓厚的兴趣,并能够尝试完成基本的对话创编,对于体育人物的精神也有一定的深刻的认知,但对于体育精神的不同角度(listening and talking)的认识还需要提升,提升学生的语言表达和以逻辑思考为支撑的话题表达能力。
