核心素养与思政渗透 本课时的话题依旧围绕“让人出乎意料的事件”展开,通过朋友间的对话情境,进一步引导学生巩固熟悉过去完成时态和一般过去时态,理解和表达过去发生的事情,从而激发学生学习英语的兴趣,促进其在语言学习中发展思维,在思维发展中学习语言,提升思维的逻辑性、批判性和创新性,并引导学生了解部分西方节日的文化常识,了解国外的愚人节风俗,尊重文化的多样性和差异性,增强跨文化交际意识,同时要注意把握愚人的时间和度。
课标分析 新课标要求九年级学生能听懂发音清晰、语速较慢的简短口头表达,获取关键信息;积累常用的词语搭配;能围绕相关主题,运用所学语言,与他人进行日常交流,语音、语调、用词基本正确,表达比较连贯;能用所学语言描述文化现象与文化差异,树立国际视野,具有比较、判断文化异同的基本能力;能多角度、辩证地看待事物和分析问题;有积极主动的学习态度和较强的自信心;能主动参与课内外各种英语实践活动,注意倾听,积极使用英语进行交流。

教材内容分析 本课是一节听说课,内容为生活中出其不意的玩笑,特别是愚人节发生的让人难以预料的事情。活动1a要求学生分辨所给的单词和短语的性质,以此复习与节日有关的词汇,同时学习生词,为后续听力做铺垫;活动1b作为听前的口语输出活动,要求学生运用1a的词汇讲述近一段时间发生在自己身上的事情;活动1c要求学生听对话之后选图,是检测学生对听力内容的整体掌握情况;活动1d加大难度,要求匹配人物和事件细节,检测的是学生对听力细节的掌握情况;活动1e是一个控制性的口语输出活动,需要学生根据听力内容展开对话,完成由听力信息输入到口语信息输出的过程。
重点 掌握一般过去时态和过去完成时态;
难点 在语言输出中熟练运用这两种时态。
学情分析 经过A部分的学习,学生已初步掌握了过去完成时态的用法,并知晓了生活中常会出现的一些出人意料的事情。本课的话题依旧延续,但从生活琐事、意外事故过渡到生活中出其不意的玩笑,特别是愚人节发生的让人难以预料的事情。这个节日为学生所熟悉和感兴趣,贴近学生生活实际,易激发其学生的共鸣和表达欲望。

Step 1. Lead-in. Watch the video and learn about the festival. Ss: April Fool! Have a brainstorming about April Fool’s Day. Step 2. Pre-listening. Observe the pictures and learn to use some related words to talk about April Fool’s Day, such as fool sb., get fooled by sb., angry, happy, embarrassed, etc. Look at the people in the pictures and guess their feelings. Step 3. While-listening. Work on 1c. Listen and write each person’s name under the correct picture. Report their answers. Sa: Joe is sleepy. He stayed up studying. Work on 1d. Read the phrases aloud. Listen again. Write D for Dave, N for Nick and J for Joe in front of the phrases. Sb: Dave thought the party he went to is a costume party but it was not. So he was really embarrassed about wearing a costume. Filling blanks. Look through the conversation. Then listen again and fill in the blanks. Then check their answers by reading the conversation aloud in pairs. Step 4. Post-listening. Retelling. Based on the picture and sentence structures, describe the students’ experiences with some linking words, like first, next and finally. Discussion. Work in groups and have a discussion about the things people should notice on the day. Then report their ideas in class. Talking. Watch the video and learn more information about the festival. Talk about their April Fool’s Day in pairs, then in class. Step 5. Conclusion. Have a summary of what we have learned with the help of T. Play an English song and let Ss watch and listen. T: What’s the song about T: What do you know about it Guide Ss to talk about what they’ve known about the festival and list some phrases. Show some pictures about the festival and lead Ss to describe them. T: What are they doing T: Have you ever fooled others T: Have you ever been fooled by others T: How did you feel after you were fooled Let Ss observe the pictures in 1c and teach some new words, like shocked, embarrassed, etc. Then let Ss try to describe the pictures one by one. Guide Ss to read the instruction and make sure they can understand the meaning. Ask Ss to pay attention to the names and understand the key words. Play the recording . Guide Ss to read the phrases and make sure they can understand the meaning. Then play the recording for another time. Encourage Ss to make sentences to check the answers. Provide the conversation without some key words for Ss to complete. Invite one pair of Ss to act the conversations out and check the conversation. T: What do you think about their April Fool’s Day Provide some pictures and sentence structures and lead Ss to retell each student’s story. T: Is it OK to do anything funny to anybody T: How should we notice on April Fool’s Day Play a video about the origin and history of April Fool’s Day. Encourage Ss to talk about their experiences.
