教学目标 语言能力 能够在“疯狂动物城”的破案模式情境中,通过观察归纳、同伴合作等方式,正确理解和使用过去完成时以及由when, before, as, by the time引导的时间状语从句,准确区分过去完成时、一般过去时和现在完成时态,谈论过去发生的尤其是意想不到的事情;
文化意识 通过谈论过去发生的尤其是意想不到的事情,能够认识到生活中常常发生难以预料的事情,形成坦然面对生活意外、乐观向上的态度;

教材内容分析 本课是一节语法课,梳理、归纳了本单元含有when,before, as, by the time等引导词的句子,提供了用过去时态表述同时发生或先后发生的事情的参考范例。活动4a要求运用by the time和before把两个句子合并成一个时间状语从句,旨在强化学生对过去完成时态结构的掌握;活动4b要求根据所提供的情境,用动词的正确形式完成句子填空,旨在帮助学生运用和区分过去时和过去完成时态;活动4c是一个半开放性的输出活动,要求学生用所学的句式结构写出昨天发生的三件事,其中有一件是虚构的,既能训练巩固学生掌握过去完成时态的句式结构,还能训练学生的想象力和推理力,同时具有趣味性,增强学生参与活动的动力。
重点 在与一般过去时、现在完成时的对比中,学习过去完成时的用法;学会用过去完成时叙述自己经历的特别的一天;
难点 明白一般过去时态和过去完成时态的区别,并能正确运用这两种时态叙述过去发生的事情;
学情分析 通过前两个课时的学习,学生已感知并多次尝试使用过去完成时以及由when, before, as, by the time引导的时间状语从句谈论过去发生的尤其是意想不到的事情,具有一定的学习基础。教师要创造有趣的教学情景和设计难易适宜的任务,让全班学生都能参与到语法学习的探究和应用活动中来,创造更多的机会运用所学句式结构,通过小组合作学习降低学习难度,让他们体验成功的喜悦。

Step 1. Lead-in. Listen to the T to introduce the situation and get ready for grammar knowledge learning. Step 2. Presentation . Find out the sentences with the past perfect tense. Observe the examples and try to sum up the structure in pairs. After finishing the task, they can get a clue —— The criminal is a female. Have a revision of the regular and irregular forms. Get the second clue —— The criminal is famous. Work in groups and have a discussion about the usages. After finishing the task, they can get a clue —— The criminal is a vegetarian. Fill in the blanks with different forms of the verbs. Get the fourth clue —— The criminal is a thin. Step 3. Grammar Focus. Read the sentences in Grammar Focus and find out the actions which happened first and which happened next. Step 4. Practice. Work on 4a. Read the example sentences. Then make sentences using “by the time” or “before”. Check the answers by reading aloud. Sa: Before I put cream in the coffee, the coffee had become cold. Work on 4b. Read the sentences first. Then fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in the box by themselves. After two minutes, exchange and correct their partners’ work. Ss are encouraged to talk about their reasons. Work on 4c. Write two true statements and one false statement about their day yesterday. Then check the answers. Sa: Had you missed the bus by the time you left for school in the morning Sb: No, I hadn’t. Step 5. Conclusion &exercises. Present some pictures of “Zootopia” and set the situation. Let Ss read the examples and guide them to sum up the sentences structures with partners, including positive sentence, negative sentence and questions. Ask Ss to put the words Yax says in right order to make up some sentences. Lead Ss to review the past tense and past participle of verbs. Let Ss classify the verbs and have a chant. Provide some example sentences and let Ss sum up the usages of the past perfect tense. Invite some Ss to report their results and offer some exercises. Guide Ss to compare the present perfect tense, the simple past tense and the past perfect tense. Help Ss to find out the criminal according to the clues they’ve got. Let Ss read the sentences aloud and observe them carefully. Q1: 这些句子是过去完成时吗? Q2: 什么动作先发生,什么动作后发生? Go over the instruction. Make sure Ss can understand what they should do. Ask several Ss to write their sentences on the blackboard. While Ss are writing, move around to offer help. Then check the sentences with Ss. Guide Ss to read and understand the phrases and sentences first. Ask them to complete the sentences then. After peer-check, invite some Ss to read the sentences and analyze the reasons. Let Ss think about his/ her day yesterday. Let them write two true statements and one false statement about their day yesterday. Ask their classmates to guess the false statements.
