一、教材分析

(一)Warming-up
1. Greetings
- T: Hello, boys and girls. Nice to meet you.
- Ss: Hello, teacher. Nice to meet you, too.
2. Free talk
- T: Do you like your home
- Ss: Yes, I do.
- T: Why
- Ss: Because it's warm and comfortable. / Because I can play with my family. etc.
- T: Today, let's talk about our sweet homes.
设计意图:通过简单的问候和自由谈话,拉近师生距离,营造轻松愉快的课堂氛围,同时引出本节课的主题“家”,激发学生的学习兴趣。
(二)Presentation
1. Learn new words
- Show a picture of a house on the PPT and ask students: What's this
- Ss: It's a house.
- T: Yes, it's a house. And we also call it “home”. Teach the word “home” and ask students to read it several times.
- Then, point to different rooms in the picture and teach the new words one by one: living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, study, garden. For each word, show the picture and let students repeat the word. For example:
- T: (Point to the living room) This is the living room. We can watch TV, relax and talk with our family in the living room. Say “living room”.
- Ss: Living room.
- Use the same way to teach other words.
- After teaching the new words, play a word game “I say you point”. The teacher says the words and students point to the corresponding pictures on the PPT.
设计意图:利用图片直观展示不同房间的名称,帮助学生理解和记忆新单词。通过游戏的方式进行巩固练习,增加学习的趣味性,提高学生的参与度。
2. Text learning
- Open the textbook and turn to Lesson 1《My Sweet Home》. Look at the pictures in the text and ask students: What can you see in the pictures
- Ss: I can see a house, some rooms and people.
- T: Yes, this is a girl's home. Let's listen to the tape and find out what rooms are there in her home.
- Play the tape of the text for the first time and ask students to listen carefully and just listen, not to read.
- After listening, ask students to answer the question.
- Ss: There is a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and a study in her home.
- T: Very good. Now let's listen to the tape again and this time, follow the tape and read the text silently. While reading, pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
- Play the tape again and students read silently.
- Then, ask some students to read the text aloud paragraph by paragraph. The teacher corrects their pronunciation and intonation if necessary.
设计意图:通过听课文录音和看图片,让学生初步了解课文内容,培养学生的听力理解能力。跟读课文可以帮助学生纠正发音,掌握正确的语音语调,提高学生的口语表达能力。
(三)Practice
1. Sentence pattern practice
- Show some pictures of different rooms on the PPT and ask students to make sentences using the sentence pattern “There is a...in the...”. For example:
- T: (Show a picture of a living room with a sofa) What can you see in this picture
- Ss: I can see a sofa in the living room.
- T: Very good. So we can say “There is a sofa in the living room.” Now, look at this picture. (Show a picture of a bedroom with a bed) What can you say
- Ss: There is a bed in the bedroom.
- Let students practice in pairs, using the pictures on the PPT to make sentences. They can take turns to ask and answer.
- After practicing for a while, ask some pairs to come to the front of the class and show their sentences to the whole class.

2. Role-play
- Divide the students into groups of four. Each group assigns roles as the girl in the text, her father, her mother and a visitor. They use the new words and sentence patterns to make a dialogue about the girl's home and her family's activities. For example:
- Visitor: Hello, [Girl's name]. Nice to meet you.
- Girl: Nice to meet you, too. Welcome to my home.
- Visitor: Your home is very beautiful. What rooms are there in your home
- Girl: There is a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and a study in my home.
- Visitor: What is your father doing
- Girl: My father is watching TV in the living room.
- Visitor: And your mother
- Girl: My mother is cooking in the kitchen.
- Give students some time to prepare their dialogues and then ask each group to perform their dialogues in front of the class. The other students listen carefully and give comments.

(四)Production
1. Group discussion
- Ask students to think about their own homes and discuss in groups: What rooms are there in your home What are your family members doing in different rooms now Each group appoints a recorder to write down their discussions.
- After the discussion, ask each group to report their discussions to the class. The recorder reads out what they have written. For example:
- Group 1: There is a living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom in my home. Now, my father is reading a newspaper in the living room. My mother is cleaning the bedroom. I am doing my homework in my bedroom.
- Group 2: In my home, there is a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen and a study. My father is working in the study. My mother is washing clothes in the bathroom. I am watching TV in the living room.
- Encourage other students to ask questions or make comments about the reports.

2. Writing

- After writing, ask some students to read their passages aloud and the teacher gives feedback and evaluation.

2. Summarize the main content of the text and emphasize the importance of loving our homes and families.

3. Encourage students to share their feelings and thoughts about their homes with the class.
- T: Now, who wants to share your feelings about your home
- Ss: I love my home because it's a place where I can feel safe and happy. / I like my home because I can play with my friends and do my favorite things there. etc.

(六)Homework
1. Listen to the tape of the text and read it aloud for at least three times.

3. Help your parents do some housework and tell them in English what you are doing. For example, “I am sweeping the floor in the living room.”
