(一)Warming-up
1. Greetings
- T: Hello, everyone. How are you today
- Ss: I'm fine, thank you. And you
- T: I'm great. It's a nice day, isn't it
- Ss: Yes, it is.
设计意图:通过日常问候,营造轻松愉快的课堂氛围,拉近师生距离,为新课的学习做好准备。
2. Color song
- Play a color song video on the multimedia, such as "The Colors Song". Let the students listen and sing along with the video.

(二)Lead-in
1. Show a picture of a rainbow on the multimedia.
- T: Look at this picture. What's this
- Ss: It's a rainbow.
- T: Yes, it's a beautiful rainbow. Do you know what colors we can see in a rainbow
- Ss: Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple... (Students may answer with different orders.)
- T: Great. There are many colors in the rainbow. Today we are going to learn about our colourful world.
2. Write the title "Our Colourful World" on the blackboard.

(三)Presentation
1. Learn new words
- Take out a red color card and say: "This is red. Red, r-e-d, red." Show the students the correct pronunciation and spelling. Let the students repeat after the teacher several times.
- Use the same way to teach other color words: yellow, blue, green, black, white, orange, purple, pink, brown.
- Put the color cards on the desk in a random order. Ask a student to come to the front, pick a card and say the color word aloud. Then ask other students to repeat.

2. Drill the words
- Show some pictures of objects with different colors on the multimedia quickly. Ask the students to say the colors of the objects as fast as they can.
- Play a game "Color guessing". Choose a student to come to the front, close his/her eyes. Then the teacher takes a colored object (e.g., a colored balloon or a colored pen) and asks the other students: "What color is it " The students answer together. The student at the front tries to guess the color based on the answers.

3. Teach the sentences

- Ask the students to practice the sentence in pairs, using the objects around them. One student asks "What color is it " and the other student answers with the correct color.
- Then ask some students: "What's your favorite color " Help them answer: "My favorite color is..." Write the sentence on the blackboard and let the students repeat.
- Have a short conversation with a student:
- T: What's your favorite color
- S1: My favorite color is green.
- T: Why do you like green
- S1: Because it makes me feel relaxed. (The answer can vary.)
- Let the students practice the conversation in pairs, asking and answering about their favorite colors and the reasons.

1. Listen and repeat
- Open the textbook to Section12 "Our Colourful World". Play the audio of the dialogue and let the students listen and repeat. Pay attention to the pronunciation, intonation and stress.

2. Pair work

- After the survey, ask some students to share their survey results with the class and discuss the common answers and different opinions.
