教学目标
At the end of the class, students will be able to 1. know something about the first day of senior high school. 2. learn to get the basic information of a conversation by listening for key words. 3. learn to introduce ourselves and greet others properly depending on different situations in life.
教学内容
教学重点: 1. help students predict before listening and get the basic information of a conversation .
2. help students make a conversation properly.
教学难点: how to enable students to introduce themselves properly
教学过程
Activity 1: lead-in Have a free talk with students by asking these questions. Q1. Where do you think these students are Q2. How do you think they feel Q3. How do you feel on the first day of senior high school Why? Activity 2: Pre-listening Q1. Who do you meet on the first day of school Q2. Where did you go and what did you do on the first day of senior high school Describe what the people in the pictures are doing. Match the pictures with sentences. A.My name is Amy. I’d like to have a student ID cars, please. B. Hi, I’m Max Jackson. I’m an exchange student from the UK. C. Hello, everyone! Welcome to our school! Activity 3: Listening Look at picture3, Amy is getting her student ID card. What will they talk about Just predict what they will talk about. Then Listen to Conversation 1 and complete the table. Activity 4: Listening Then Amy meets Max in the dining hall. Listen to Conversation2 and tick Max’s favourite subject and Amy’s favourite subject. Activity 5: Listening Amy doesn’t know which courses to choose, so she turned to Ms Li, a school adviser to help. 1. What does Amy want to be in the future A. An engineer. B. A designer. C. A writer 2. What course will Amy probably choose A. English. B. IT. C. Art. Activity 6: Compare the three conversations Activity7: Pair work Work in groups. Choose one of the situations and make a conversation. Try to use the introductions and greetings below. A boy meets a girl during a break. 2. An exchange student is talking to a teacher on campus. 3. A boy and a girl are at the airport to meet a visiting group of teachers and students from England. Activity8 Pronunciation. Notice the pronunciation of the vowels (A, E, I, O, U). Then add a word to each group. Activity 8 Homework 1. Choose one of the situations in the speaking part to make a conversation, trying to use the instructions and greetings properly. 2. Try to think of one word for each of the blank of the pronunciation part.
