Pierre de Coubertin is considered the father of the modern Olympic games.
He founded the IOC(International Olympic Committee) in 1894 and the first modern games were held two years later.
Today the IOC continues to support and encourage the development of sports around the world. the Olympic motto, “Faster, higher, stronger”, which is still used today, was also written by him.
