This unit is from Module 10 in Book 1. It tells us the most important festival in China—Spring Festival, and what people do to prepare for Spring Festival. Besides learning this, students will also learn some words, phrases and expressions of Spring Festival.2. Analysis of the Students
The students in my class are creative and active. They are interested in Spring Festival. They like to talk about how people prepare for Spring Festival. The type of this unit is listening and speaking, so I will ask the students to speak English as much as possible. 3. Teaching Aims and Demands
1. Knowledge objects
(1) To learn and master the new words and phrases “lantern”, “dance”, “clean”, ”cook”, “happen”, “quite”, “hard”, “join” ,“get ready for, at the moment, at work, put away, hurry up”, etc.
(2) To master present continuous tense.
(3) To master pronunciation: /l/, /w/, /r/, /j/.2. Ability objects
(1) To identify what people do to prepare for Spring Festival.
(2) To identify the questions like What is/are…doing?/What’s happening?
(3) To introduce how people prepare for Spring Festival.
