动词-ing形式
As you can imagine, getting burnt can lead to very serious injuries.
The first and most important step in the treatment of burns is giving first aid.
It is best to place burns under cool running water, especially within the first ten minutes.
Remove any clothes using scissors if necessary, unless
you see the fabric sticking to the burnt skin.
You can protect the burn by covering it with a clean cloth.

V-ing 作主语和表语
One of his weakness is telling lies.
Telling lies is one of his weakness.
The book is interesting.
V-ing作主语，谓语动词用单数。
形式主语it代替V-ing 作主语,常用句式：1. It’s a waste of time doing
2. It’s useless/worthwhile doing
3. It’s no good/use/fun/pleasure doing
It’s a waste of time playing computer games.
It is no use regretting for the past.
V-ing 作表语
The trip is exciting, and we have decided to have a similar one.
常见的有interesting, disappointing, amazing, astonishing, surprising....
V-ing 作宾语
一、动词后的宾语
接v-ing作宾语的常见动词（短语）：avoid, suggest, finish, practise, admit, risk, mind, enjoy, can’t help
He admitted referring to his notes in the exam.
听到这个消息，他情不自禁地笑了。

一、动词后的宾语
I love walking with my friend on a sunny day.
It is a pleasant day today, so I love to walk with my friend.
一些动词后既可以用V-ing作宾语，又可以用to do作宾语
区别：V-ing表示经常性，习惯性的动作，to do 表示具体某一次的动作

二、介词后的宾语
接v-ing作宾语的常见介词（短语）：be good at, be interested in, feel like, get used to, lead to, devote oneself to, pay attention to...
